Aum Symbol, Hindu Aum

We will begin by drawing one piece of the Om symbol. Start with a half circle shape and make it blocky or bold like you see here.

Next, begin to draw the next section of this Hindu symbol by making a tab off to the right, and then dragging a large loop to the front as shown in this step.

For the last drawing step, all you will do is complete the shape that you started to the right by making a closed hook shape and then draw the smaller two pieces that rest above the symbol. Erase the mistakes and you are done.

That's it, you are all done. Now you can color in the Om or AUM symbol in black, or add some style to it.

Description: Hello everyone and welcome back to another lesson. I hope everyone is staying cool during these hot summer days. I'm back today and with my return I bring a lesson on a symbol that I am a fan of. This is how to draw the Hindu Aum symbol or Om symbol. The Aum is a sacred sound symbol that represents Universe, which in Hinduism is ultimate reality or Brahman. This symbol is also used in almost all their prayers and mantras. The Om symbol is considered to be one of the most important symbols for the Hindus. It consists of three Sanskrit letters and has three sounds a-u-m and when speaking it, all three letters come together to make one sound "OMmmmm". The three letters also represents the three Hindu Gods from the the three worlds of earth, atmosphere, and heaven. Anyways, I put my own twist on the design or coloring of this lesson.
