How to Draw a Monster Plant

1

Start with a round head guide, then sketch in the facial guideline.

2

You will use the head guide to draw out the structure of the head. Make a mouth opening and add some indent on the top of the plant's lips.

3

Draw in a gum line, then draw some large spiky teeth.

4

Draw in the bottom row of teeth and gum line, then add a bit of detailing inside the mouth.

5

We will now focus on drawing the bedding of the plant which is the leaves that hug the base of the bloom. Add a stem that is curved, and proceed to step six.

6

Draw in more of the monster plant's stem and make sure that it thickens the lower to the pot it goes. When that is done draw the large leaves and add some serrated edges to the leaves.

7

Sketch in a couple more leaves, then add detailing to the centers of each leaf.

8

For the last step all you have to do is draw the pot and then draw in the roots that are growing out of the pot as the plant gets bigger. Erase the guides and mistakes.

9

That's it. You are ready to color in the drawing and show people that you know how to draw Audrey II.

Description: "Feed me Seymour!". Yes this is the same quote used by Audrey II in the colt classic musical 'Little Shop of Horrors'. Of course this is not Audrey II, but it's a good interpretation of the carnivorous plant that eats people in the eighties film and Broadway play. This lesson is going to show you "how to draw a monster plant", step by step. Audrey II looks almost like a Venus Flytrap while holding some resemblance to the monster plants in the Mario game series. Anyways, I think this is a perfect concept to tackle for the Halloween season so go ahead and have some fun. I will be back soon so have fun for the moment and I will be back with one more tut for you all.
