Draw the oval lightly with a No.2 or HB pencil. Make sure you draw it as seen in the picture.

Now draw in the bisecting line to balance his facial features.

Sketch lightly the crescent red lines for hair line and head mass. It does seem to appear upside down. That's because there is more mass at the bottom of his face.

Don't worry about the lines bowing down. That is to get the right perspective of Big Hoss's face. You can draw in the lines a. for eyebrows, b. for eyes, c. for nose, and d. for mouth.

Now draw Big Hoss's eyes, eyebrows, and shadow lines.

Observe where Hoss's features appear in relation to the guidelines. Draw in his nose, shadow line, chin, and mouth.

Now draw in his ear, the profile of his cheek, jawline, and neck.

Lastly, observe where the lines of his hair flow (away from his face) together within the guidelines. Take your time to draw the lines and curves of his hair. Patience is your best friend because with it, you'll be able to complete your drawing.
