First draw an oblong shape and then draw a vertical line down the middle of the body. Next add six leg lines, three on each side.

2

You will now start sketching out the actual shape and form of the roach. The top is the shape of the head, and then line in the middle is where the body opens up to release the wings.

3

You will now add a bit more shape to the head and then draw the detailing lines for the right and left wing. Draw the long wispy looking antennas, and then move to step four.

4

Draw some detailing shapes on the head, and then thicken the shape for the base of the antenna. Next draw the legs in shape and form, and then you can sketch out the wings at the bit of the bug. Erase all the guidelines and shapes to clean up your dr

Description: Insects are one of the things that crawls on this earth that really creep me out as well as gross me out. Of all the bugs in existence, there is one that tops the cake when it comes to yacking or having the constant sense that there is something crawling on you when ever you come into contact with these bugs. I will start the day by submitting a lesson that shows you "how to draw a cockroach", step by step. Just their name alone sounds disgusting and if you knew what these insects go through just to survive, you would be somewhat amazed, and disturbed because they do what they do just for their next meal. First off let's just clarify something about the cockroach and the belief that these bugs can live through anything. That theory is pretty accurate. The roach will do anything it has to, just to survive no matter what. Even if the temperatures fall way below freezing, they somehow find a way to live long enough to just to make it through. Unlike humans, the roach can live without food for about month with no problem at all. They can even submerge themselves underwater and hold their breath for nearly forty five minutes, now that is pretty impressive. No matter how outstanding their statistics are, living with these nasty looking bugs is no walk in the part. Let's just say it's summer time, and you have your favorite leather jacket just hanging on your bed post and has been sitting there for a few months. One day it gets a bit brisk outside and you reach for your jacket. When you pick it up, all you see is hundreds of roaches just start to fall from your nice leather coat. You get so grossed out you start screaming. Why do you think that these bugs decided to hoard there this whole time? It's because roaches love dark, warm, moist places. That's why there is a saying that if you turn a light on you will see cockroaches scatter. Another question that rises a lot is, how do they multiply in so many numbers so fast? Well, once a female roach mates, they are pregnant for life. Yup, for life. She just keeps dropping eggs, after eggs until the day of her death. The only real way to kill a roach is just by simply stepping on them because harsh chemical sprays don't seem to do the job to well. They have six limbs and more then eighteen knees. Their eyes have about four thousand individual lenses, which gives them the capability to scatter about so quickly. How fast do you think a roach can run anyway? How about three miles an hour. Another peculiar thing about the roach is the location of their brain. You would think it's in the same place as every other animal right? Wrong, the cockroach's brain is actually scattered throughout it's entire body. Of you where to cut off it's head, it would just wonder around for week before actually dying, and the cause of death would be because of thirst. Pretty weird huh? I don't care if the cockroach was found to be the smartest animal in the world, if I seen one I would most definitely kill it. They are that disgusting to me. To tell you the truth, just writing about this animal and drawing it yesterday was a bit disturbing. It's your turn to have fun with this tutorial on “how to draw a cockroach, step by step”. Have fun with it, and adios!
