1

Make an egg shape and then draw a simple single line for the body guide.

2

Slowly sketch out two of the first eight finger like legs. Begin detailing the base of the leg that is closest to the body. Sketch in the detailing on the joints and then at the tips of each leg.

3

Next, continue to draw out two more legs and then draw the lined shape of the body. Repeat the same process you did with the other legs and add the definition to the base of the legs, as well as at the joints and tips.

4

You will now begin drawing out the front part of the body, and then draw in two more legs the same exact way you did the first four.

5

Sketch in the rest of the legs and then draw the back end part of the body. Next, sketch in some surface or skin textural definition and then move to the last step.

6

for the last step all you have to do is draw in the long thick tail, and then sketch in some detailing or rib like lines down the entire. Sketch in some surface definition. Clean up the drawing and you are all done.

7

Here is the facehugger when you are all done. Now you can color it in and be on your way.

Description: Looking through some of the neat creatures that’s in all the Alien movies, I thought filling a request on the creature that is literally the second stage formation before turning into a full sized alien being. So, having said all that, let’s get busy learning "how to draw a facehugger", step by step. As I just said, a facehugger is the hand like creature that hatch out of the egg. The concept for a facehugger is by far one of the neatest, but ugliest things I have ever seen in an alien movie. It has these long bony fingers like legs which enables it to get around quickly, as well as wrap around the face of its host or victim. They also have these long nasty looking tails that are used for jumping far distances like onto a person’s face. The whole purpose or existence for the facehugger is to attach itself to a person’s face as it wraps its tail around the host’s neck. The more the tail tightens on the neck, the more oxygen is lost which then puts the person unconscious. This enable the facehugger to open the host’s mouth as it deposits an alien embryo within the cavity of the human. As soon as the embryo is in place, the facehugger automatically falls off and dies. If you remember in the first Alien movie, the crew attempted to remove a facehugger off of a friend, but it was impossible to do so without killing the individual. I find these things nasty, annoying, and real rank, but they are a ton of fun to draw. I think you guys will enjoy drawing a facehugger because they are easy to replicate, and make a fun addition to your Alien drawings portfolio. I shall return later but for now have fun with this awesome lesson. Peace out people and enjoy!
