How to Draw Captain Haddock, Captain Haddock

1

Make yourself a circle for the head and then draw in the face and body guides like so.

2

Draw or sketch out the shape of the face by using a real rugged lining job. This will be the beard, and then draw in the outline for the face.

3

Draw in the eyes and then draw the mouth. Add the wrinkles around the eyes like so, and then add some ear detailing. You will then draw in the hat line around the ear.

4

Next draw in captain style hat and make sure to draw in the emblem, as well as the hat band.

5

Now you can draw in the body. Start with the shoulders and then draw in the one arm first, and then draw his hand. Make the thick collar and then draw the shirt under his coat.

6

Draw the left arm and then finish drawing the jacket. When that is done go ahead and sketch in his other hand.

7

Finish drawing the torso, and then draw the left leg, and foot. Be sure to add that crease on the top of the shoe like you see here.

8

Now you are ready to finish off this captain. Draw in the right leg and foot. When you feel like your drawing is perfect, you can clean up your work and be on your way.

9

This is the last step. The line art is clean and ready to color in. I hope you had fun with drawing Captain Haddock.

Description: I think I told you guys a while back that there is a new Steven Spielberg movie coming out in CGI form called ‘The Adventures of Tintin’. I already have Tintin and Snowy uploaded but I did realize that there is another character that is missing. Today I will be teaching you "how to draw Captain Haddock", step by step. Captain Haddock is the best friend to Tintin and his dog, and unlike Tintin, Mr. Haddock is a man with almost an endless supply of money. Captain Haddock looks a lot like Brutus from Popeye, although in the early days Brutus used be called Bluto. This marine captain has been part of the series since 1941 as he made his first debut in ‘The Crab with the Golden Claws’. He is an easy character for me to draw, but if you’re not used to drawing comic book style figures, you may find this lesson a bit complex. I will still keep it listed under the novice category because I know there is also going to be folks that will find this tutorial as easy as I do. Well, that’s about it. Have fun drawing Captain Haddock and I will come back later with my last submission. Peace out people and enjoy!
