How to Draw Corpse Bride

Step 1.

Okay start this first step by drawing out the guidelines and shapes to make a frame for Emily. Start by making a small circle shape for his head and then add the facial guidelines. You will then make a line for his neck and then draw out the shapes for his torso and then the long flowing shape of her bridal gown. Add the limb guidelines as well and then the final shapes for her feet or shoes.

Step 2.

In this next step you will start to draw the in the shapes of her face like the two eye sockets and then add the shape of her jaw which is narrow and petite. Give her a mouth and then start drawing the shapes of her bony arms and hands as shown. Next add the lines for her hair and then the detailing shape of her breast and dress both at the hip area and the flare at the bottom. You will also shape out the socks.

Step 3.

Now in order to make Emily look pretty you will sketch in her hair style by first drawing the shape of her side parted bangs and then sketch the long flowing locks of her hair. You will then add eye lids and a small nose. Then draw the long shape of her vail and then put a slit in the middle of her gown and then shape out the edges making them look grungy.

Step 4.

As you can see this "corpse bride" is looking more like herself. You will start detailing her hair in this step and then add the facial expression lines on her face by adding the eyebrows and pupils and you will also detail her lips. You will start detailing the top part of her dress by drawing out the border around the edges and then detail the bottom of the gown as shown. Once you are done with that you can start drawing in her bone like arm in detail and then her leg and hands.

Step 5.

Well you have made it to your last drawing step. Was that so hard to do? You will now finish off your "corpse bride" by adding the top of her vail as well as the decayed flowers. Next detail her eyes bu giving her some pretty looking eyelashes and then add more definition to her hair. You will then sketch in her exposed ribs to the left. Now you will draw the length of the vail and make sure the edges resemble hair or oldness. Detail the bottom of her gown and then draw the rest of her bony legs, socks and shoes. You can start erasing all the guidelines that you drew in step one.

Step 6.

And here we have it. You are done. All you have to do is color her in and make her look like she has sent the last few years underground. I hope you liked this tutorial on how to draw Emily from Corpse Bride step by step. I will be back with more in a bit so stay tuned.

Hello once again fellow artist and how is everyone doing on this fine day? Well as you may all know I am back with another tutorial submission and this time it will be on a cool character. Today I will be showing you "how to draw Corpse Bride". This move was so cool because it has a hard core Gothic edge to it which makes it wicked. I love all the stories that Tim Burton creates because some of the best characters are made from his dark mind like Jack and Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas, Edward from Edward Scissorhands and many more awesome movies. Corpse Bride is about a young man named Victor Van Dort that is being forced into an arranged marriage to Victoria Everglot. At first he is nervous and scared about getting married to a woman he doesn't know. But as soon as he meets her she turns out to be the girl of his dreams. One day he is walking threw the woods on a cold winter night to practice his vows before the big day. As he places the ring on what he thinks is a tree branch for a finger, he wakes up a bride that has been dead for years. The “corps bride” is awaken because she was proposed to once again and because she was a lost soul that had unfinished business. Her name is Emily and she was once married before she died. But what she didn't know is that she would once again run into the man that made her dreams come true and her worst dream a reality. Emily has a sweet personality and she gets along well with Victor. She usually has a maggot that lives in her head that she sometimes confides in and all the local dead souls hang out at the ghost village tavern. I like the movie I think that they did a good job with the “Corpse Bride” because all the characters where well written and created. I chose to do Emily because even though she is dead, she is still very pretty, sweet, kind and talented. She chooses to give up the fact that she wants to be married to Victor because Emily knows that he will never lover her and she can't imagine him dead just to keep her happy. The story ends with Victor and Victoria living happily ever after, and Emily the “Corpse Bride” can finally rest in peace because the man that killed her (which was the man that she married) was dead himself and her unfinished business was now put to an end. I hope you like this tutorial, I have more drawing fun on the way so stay tuned I will be back in a bit.
