How to Draw Neo, The Matrix

Step 1.

STEP 1. Alright, as you can see here, I started out with a simple egg shape for the head, and a few lines for the shoulders, nothing major, it IS step one afterall :D

Step 2.

STEP 2. Next I sketch in a few simple guidelines for his face. Normally I would have a horizontal line in the fact too, but since you can't see his eyes, I didn't bother. I also threw in the rough outline of his ears and the collar of his coat.

Step 3.

STEP 3. Next I draw his nose. Not too hard really, just....look at the image. lol I also added more details to his coat, and his square jawline.

Step 4.

STEP 4. Next I draw his glasses, mouth, and general facial features. Take your time with this one, these are key to making any drawing of a person actually look like the person you want it to....well.........look

Step 5.

STEP 5. Right here, I just like to stop and clean things up, so.....time to erase!

Step 6.

STEP 6. Alright, time to fill in his hair, add the ear details, and a little peak of his neck in the back. I also finish off the coat, which is pretty simple really, a seem, and a few buttons. Take your time on the hair, and don't overcomplicated the ears. Ears don't need to be super details, otherwise, the picture just gets messy looking.

Step 7.

STEP 7. Clean it up again.

Step 8.

Then just fix up anything you see that's off, and color it in. I wanted to keep it simple and sort of comic book style here, so I left it grayscale. And there you have Neo! I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, I'll see what I can do about making some more down the road.

Hey all, long time no tut! lol Been off trying to improve, and I think I've finally got something worth sharring. In this tutorial, I'll be showing you how to draw Neo from the awesome movie series, The Matrix. My lines in this tutorial won't be as clean as in most tutorials you see, because I actually am showing the actual process I used to draw this. I saved my lines now and then, and just overlaid them on the final image. So...things look a little rough, but it's the best I can do, and it should still help.
