Start this first simple step by drawing a long curved line that will be used for a frame of his body. Attached to the body line draw a diamond shape for the head of the snake.

In this next step you will then start shaping out the head of the rattlesnake as shown and then add in the beady little eyes of this reptile. After you do that you can start drawing out the body lines on the opposite side to thicken the body as shown

Next all you have to do here is thicken the snakes body even more but this time you will be drawing out the thickness of the neck and then mid section of the body. Make sure you follow the lining all the way down to the bottom of the tail. On the lef

Now this is the last step where you will be drawing. So what you will do first is detail its massive looking head and give him snake eyes. You will then draw out the shape of his hissing tongue and then detail the body with various lines to define hi

This is what your finished snake should look like when successfully erased all the guidelines that you drew in step one. All you have left to do is draw out the scales and the markings that a diamondback rattlesnake has. You are done after that and b

Description: This is going to be an awesome tutorial because it is on one of my favorite animals in the world. Today I am going to show you "how to draw a rattlesnake", but not just any rattlesnake, a diamondback rattlesnake. These reptiles are the largest venomous snake that resides in North America. These bad boys have the potential to reach a length of over eight feet and can weigh any where between ten and eleven pounds. Rattlesnakes tend to live in dry pine flatwoods, sandy woodlands from North Carolina, Florida, Louisiana, and some parts of the Nevada desert. These fierce reptiles have earned the name of “terminator” because they feed on anything that moves like; rats, mice, squirrels, birds, rabbits, and many more small to medium sized animal that have blood pumping through their veins. Rattlesnakes are probably one of the most feared snakes because of their aggressive territorial and dangerous nature. As you may have guessed by now they are carnivores and very skillful. The diamondback rattlesnake gets its name from the distinct diamond shaped markings on their hide as well as their large diamond shaped heads. An interesting fact about these lethal snakes is that they are even more dangerous when they are in their infant or baby stage because they have less control over the amount of venom they inject when they bite. Some people believe as long as they keep a sharp look out while walking in areas that rattlesnakes thrive in you will be okay. This is basically true but, you have to also understand that these snakes have the ability to strike at distances up to two-thirds their body length. That means if a rattlesnake is eight feet long; they can strike you even if you are ten feet away because an eight foot snake has a reaching distance of fifteen feet four inches long. Yes these reptiles are dangerous and yes they are the largest venomous snake in North America, but that doesn’t mean these snakes are not prey for other animals as well. The king cobra often feeds on the rattlesnake as well as roadrunners, hawks and eagles. In Texas rattlesnakes make up a mean Rattlesnake Round-Up (which is a prepared food recipe made by many Texan folk). The rattle of this creature makes the nose of a baby rattle because the tip or rattle of the snake’s tail has nested hollow beads which are actually modified scales from the tail tip. And did you know that the grooves or layers in a rattlers rattle get longer every time the snake sheds, pretty cool huh. Anyway, this tutorial will show you "how to draw a rattlesnake", step by step. I know you will find this tutorial easy as 1, 2, and 3 because I made it that way. I will be back with more tutorials after a brief intermission. So stick around kiddies you never know what is coming up next.
