how to draw soccer balls

How to Draw Soccer Balls

Step 1.

Here is an example on how a soccer ball looks from three different views. The first ball to the left is how it would look as it is being viewed from the left, the other is being viewed from the right, and the bottom ball is being viewed from the front.

Step 2.

This is just a quick drawing on how each shape should be drawn in. The colored blocks are black, and the white blocks are larger. They are all the same as far as shape goes and in this case it's an octagon.

Step 3.

Start by making a large shape for the ball by drawing a circle.

Step 4.

I was thinking about which way would be easier to draw out the octagon patterns and this is the easiest way I think it will work. Start by drawing a series of octagon shapes and then color them in.

Step 5.

For the last and final step all you have to do is connect the squares and you are all done. You can erase nothing because there was no guidelines or shapes that you drew in step one.

Step 6.

Here is what your ball looks like when you are all done. Now you know how to draw soccer balls which means you can use what you've learned to your own advantage.

There is more and more people that have been telling me that they play soccer. I know that the summer brings outdoor sports, and it also brings activities that are enjoyed by many and hated by few. Today I am going to keep last weeks momentum going by submitting another sports related tutorial and this time it will be on drawing soccer balls. There isn’t a whole lot I can say about just the ball that is used to play the very popular sport, but I can tell you that it is a ball of many octagon like patterns. In this tutorial I have included some tip steps that will enable you to understand how each square should be drawn in so you end up with an object that looks just like a soccer ball. Obviously the most complicated aspect to drawing this ball is getting those darn squares drawn in right. Hopefully you understand what I am trying to convey in this lesson so you are able to draw soccer balls of your own. This is a great project or activity for any person that loves soccer, or knows someone else that loves the sport. Have fun guys and remember to let me know what else you would like to see on Dragoart.com.
