How to Draw Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer

Step 1.

Okay start off this first easy step by drawing out the shapes and guidelines to form a nice frame for Rudolph. First draw out a small circle for the shape of his head and then a smaller shape for his snout. Next draw a line for his neck as well as two more shapes for his torso and hind area. Both shapes should be oval. Next draw out the guidelines for the legs and attach the shapes for his hooves and knee caps.

Step 2.

Now in this next step you will first draw out the three lines on top of Rudolph's head for his antlers. Then draw out the shape of his large child like ear. Next make the shape for his large tear drop shaped eye and then a perfect round circle for his red nose. You will then need to sketch in the bottom portion of his mouth like his chin, and the front and back parts of his neck. You will end this step by sketching out the shapes of his legs as shown to you here.

Step 3.

In this thirst step you will shape out and finish Rudolph's antlers and detail the inside of his large ear. You will draw him a large pupil and then give him a mouth with a smile. Detail the front of his neck with a circle for his patched markings as well as his chest. Continue this step by drawing the lining of his under belly as well as his hind leg, tail and thigh.

Step 4.

First off you will start this step erasing all the guidelines and shapes that you drew in step one. Then you will draw out the lining for his back as well as the marking line on his stomach. After you do that you should be all set. Just go over you r finished sketch to make sure everything looks portioned and correct.

Step 5.

In this step, you will have to sketch out the rear and legs of Rudolph. This should be easy once you finished off the rest of the body. Don't forget to draw that cute little fluffy tail to complete the whole drawing. Are you ready for the next step?

Step 6.

Congratulations you have just completed this tutorial on how to draw Rudolph the red nosed reindeer step by step. That is it my friend you are done. All you have to do now is color him in and label him complete. I hope you had a ton of fun with this tutorial. I tried to make him look just like the movie that is aired on CBS a week before Christmas. I think he came out adorable and I know yours did too.

Who is ready for a tutorial on a fun character that almost all of us grew up watching as a kid around the month of December. In this next tutorial I am going to show you how to draw Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. I know that many of you that come to this site have heard of the age old tale of a reindeer named Rudolph that was chosen by Santa himself to pull his sled in the thick dense fog that threatened Christmas one foggy Christmas eve. Let’s talk about the tale of this heroic reindeer for a minute shall we. First off Rudolph was born to famous slay pullers like Donner his father and I’m not quite sure what his mothers name was I think it might have been Vixen. Anyways, Rudolph was born with a very abnormal nose. It wasn’t noticed at first by his parents because it didn’t light up until he got excited. Once his nose lit up like a bright red light bulb, his father knew that all the other reindeers were just gonna laugh at him and not let him participate in any reindeer games. So like any good father he covered up the shiny red nose with a black prosthetic like object so no one would think that his son is some sort of freak. Along the way while Rudolph was in reindeer training to learn how to fly, he met a very nice young female named Clarice. The two became almost inseparable as well as the best of friends. One day while arguing with another reindeer, Rudolph’s prosthetic nose popped off and everyone was incredibly shocked at what they were seeing. Right away he was kicked off the training team. When Santa came to see what all the fuss was about he too was shocked by the recent discovery. Poor Rudolph was embarrassed and ashamed that he let his father down and that all of the North Pole saw him as a freak. His dear friend Clarice was no longer allowed to speak with Rudolph and that lead him into a deep depression. At the same time an elf who worked in the toy making department was also being laughed at because of his differences as well. His name was Hermey and he was considered to be a misfit elf because he wanted to practice dentistry instead of being a toy making Christmas elf. The two of them eventually paired up and went on a long journey and ended up on an island for misfit toys. Rudolph and Hermey were determined to have Santa help these toys find new homes for the holiday season. When the two returned to Santa’s village, there is nothing but chaos and despair because Santa cannot fly out in the strange weather that the North Pole was experiencing. When Rudolph approached Santa in the dense fog, his nose suddenly lit up. Santa saw Rudolph’s ability as a gift from heaven because Rudolph’s bright nose could lead the way thru the skies to make sure that all the toys were delivered to all the boys and girls for Christmas. This is a classic tale on how to embrace the differences that others have. You never know how those very differences can benefit in the end. This tutorial will show you how to draw Rudolph the red nosed reindeer step by step. The instructions are simple to follow which makes this a very easy tutorial to learn from. But before you go, let’s all sing the Christmas song that has been sung by millions of boys and girls around the world during Christmas season. The song goes like this; you know Dasher and Dancer and Prancer and Vixen, Comet and Cupid and Donner and Blitzen. But do you recall the most famous reindeer of all? Rudolph, the red-nosed reindeer, had a very shiny nose. And if you ever saw him, you would even say it glows. All of the other reindeer used to laugh and call him names. They never let poor Rudolph join in any reindeer games. Then one foggy Christmas Eve Santa came to say: "Rudolph with your nose so bright, won't you guide my sleigh tonight?" Then all the reindeer loved him as they shouted out with glee, Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer, you'll go down in history!
