how to draw otis from barnyard

How to Draw Otis

Step 1.

In this first step you will start it by drawing a small circle for his head and then add the facial guidelines. Next draw out the large squash shaped body. After you do that you can draw out the guidelines for the legs and arms. Include the shapes for the hooves as well.

Step 2.

Next you will start this step by sketching in the shapes of his ears and then move onto is face and draw out the sow like shaped snout and mouth. You will then start shaping out the left arm and shape out the entire left side of Otis's body as well as his hind legs. End this step by drawing the shape of his milk sack and one nipple.

Step 3.

Here in this step you will start to draw out the lines for his cow like markings starting at the shoulder and working its way to his stomach. After the markings are drawn out you can then start detailing his face by adding two small round eyes and then a separation line for his face and snout. Draw out the lining for the bottom of his mouth and shape out the left arm and hoof. You will then draw in the rest of his milking nipples and shape out the right side of his leg and add a tail.

Step 4.

In this very last step you will color in his pupils and two nostril holes as well as draw the lines for his hooves. Erase all the guidelines and shapes that you drew in step one. Clean up your drawing and move onto the last step.

Step 5.

Color in all the black spots and that is it you are done. You have just completed another drawing tutorial on That will end this tutorial on how to draw Otis from Barnyard step by step. All you have to do is color him in and proceed onto another tutorial of your liking. I will be back tomorrow guys its back to work on the new layout for my favorite site in the world.

Okay for today’s last tutorial I thought I would do something different and fun. Well at least something that pulls you away from the seasonal tutorials that have recently been submitted on DragoArt by me in the past week or so. This next tutorial is based on a movie that I watched over the Labor Day weekend with my baby sister. Now I seen the movie before I watched it with her but the second time I watched it, it seemed a lot funnier than last time for some odd reason. The character that I am going to show you "how to draw is Otis" from Barnyard. This movie was released back in 2006 so that would have made me 14 years old and my baby sister 3. Otis is one of the main characters in this animated movie about a barnyard full of animals that act incredibly human when the farmer is not around. Otis plays the rebel character out of the gang and his father Ben tries to tell Otis that he has to act like a responsible cow because he is getting old and he isn’t going to be around forever. The barnyard animals have a problem with the mangy coyotes that are constantly trying to snatch chickens and other animals from the farm to eat. One night Ben (who is the leader of the farm animals) catches a group of coyotes trying to make a meal out of one of the hens in the hen house. The pack of wild animals attacks Ben all at once and leaves him for dead. He is found by Miles the mule and rushes to tell Otis what had happened to his father. Otis feels incredibly guilty for what happened because while his father was trying to save lives he was partying in the barn with the other animals instead of keeping watch like he was suppose to. Otis knows that it is high time now that he grows up, and start acting like the head honcho that he is supposed to be acting like. He soon learns that he needs to take charge and try to be half the cow his father was. Otis defeats the coyotes that took his father’s life and restores order to the barnyard while having fun at the same time. In this tutorial you will learn how to draw Otis step by step with easy to follow instructions. I hope you find this tutorial simple and fun. I will see you all tomorrow with more drawing fun. Peace out people.
