How to Draw a Moose

1

Okay, lets start by drawing out the basic shapes for the animals body like so which consists of one large shape, one medium sized shape, and a smaller circle shape for the head. Be sure to attach the head shape to the larger circle like you see here.

2

You will now begin sketching out the shape of the moose's face which is very long, and squared at the tip of the nose. Draw in some solid colored eyes, and be sure to draw in the cheek or jaw line like so.

3

Cap off the top of the head and then draw out the large antlers that moose typically have, and remember only the bulls (males) grow antlers and the cows (females) don't.

4

Draw in more of the moose's antlers like so and then draw out their big round ears. Next, sketch in some of the detailing on the bridge of the nose, and then sketch in the nostrils. Add some detailing or definition around th eyes, and then move to st

Okay, moose have very hearty bodies and all of the mass seems to stay on top close to their heads, and chest. Even though they have full shaped rear ends, it is typically smaller then the chest area. Sketch out the bulls beard, and then draw out the

Continue to sketch out their extremely large bodies like so, and then draw out the first front leg too. Be sure to include the moose's fur detailing near the back or butt end.

7

For the last drawing step all you have to do is sketch out the back legs, and then the stomach lining. Draw in a small but noticeable tail, and then start erasing the lines and shapes that you drew in step one.

Here is what your moose looks like when you are all done. Now you can color it in and add it to your forest animal collection. Great work everyone, I hope you all learned something new.

Description: Before I get to the cooler stuff, I wanted to very quickly upload another lesson on an animal that lives in the woods, and can weigh as heavy as one thousand or so pounds. A long while ago I did a tutorial on "how to draw a moose", step by step, and today I am going to submit another moose lesson. I decided to draw another moose because I live in the North East of the United Sates, and where I am there is a lot of wildlife including deer, turkey, black bears, coyote, fox, and even some pretty cool birds like woodpeckers, eagles, wild finch, and blue jays. I still have not yet seen a moose with my own eyes, but I’m hoping I will someday soon. The tutorial is going to be way easier to follow and understand then the other moose I submitted back in 2008 I think. The lines are cleaner, the steps are easier to follow, and the overall image really captures the forest or wooded setting to this animal’s habitat. If you are a fan of moose, deer, or any other four legged critter that lives out in the forest wild, you should enjoy this tutorial on "how to draw a moose" too. I will be back with a much anticipated tutorial on a figure that many of you have been waiting to see as a lesson. Until then, have fun and enjoy your drawing day!
