How to Draw Nariko from Heavenly Sword

Step 1.

You will start this first step with the basic guidelines and shapes to form a nice shapely form of Nariko. Then you will draw out the outlines of her hair and left sword as shown to you above. Start by drawing a circle for her head with the facial guidelines sketched in. Next draw out the lining to form the shoulders and then eventually the torso. After that is complete you can start shaping out her thighs and then the outline of the sword and her hair.

Step 2.

In this next step you will focus on drawing and sketching out her facial details. Start by drawing the lines to form the strands in her hair on the top of her head. Next start sketching in her facial features such as her eyebrows, the shapes of her eyes, nose and mouth. Now give her a hint of a neck then draw the lining for her top. Now you will begin working on the belt. Draw out the thick shape to her belt and then the shape of her crotch. The strands of cloth that rest on her left leg need to start getting sketched out as well. Then you can start working on her left leg and shape out the boot and foot. Her left arm needs to be sketched in along with her hand. Don't forget to start the calf process on her right leg.

Step 3.

Here in this step you will be sketching in the hair detail. What you are going for is drawing separate pieces of strands of hair that are going to be blowing in the wind. Detail and define her body as well as her right sleeve that hangs over her right shoulder only. Next start sketching and shaping out her right arm and hand along with drawing out the wrist band on her left hand. The outline of the sword in her right hand needs to be drawn out as well along with the shape of her right shoe and foot. Also sketch in the stomach definition as you see here.

Step 4.

Now you will work mainly on the lower half of her body. First draw the two oriental sticks that are placed on the top of her head that rest inside of her hair. Next draw out the wrist wrap on her right hand and begin detailing the sword. You will be sketching in more detailed definition on her clothes and draw out the outline of her cloth in the back of her behind her left leg. Before leaving this step you should start erasing some guidelines and shapes that you no longer need and draw out the lining for the left sword as well.

Step 5.

In this last step you will be detailing the bold looking belt around her waist and the bottom of her shirt under her breast. Next finish of the detailed definition lines and shapes on the left sword and finish off the details on both of her legs including her sock like shoes. Detail the cloth behind her left leg as well. When I drew her in Photoshop I sketched in extra strands of hair that wave to the left. You can easily do this by sketching out the hair as well the same way you did the small pieces.

Step 6.

This is what Nariko should look like when you are completely done with her. All you have to do now is color her in. She looks awesome colored in I think. That is it you are done. That last step also ended this fun tutorial on how to draw Nariko from Heavenly Sword. I hope you enjoyed yourself and I also hope that you learned something new.

members that I am friends with on here about this particular drawing but never found the time to finish the final touch ups until now. This character is from a video game and she is a female warrior. Today I will be showing you all how to draw Nariko from Heavenly Sword. This fiery red head is a battling queen. I personally think this character is pretty awesome. She has wicked cool powerful moves when she attacks with her massive sword. I first heard about Heavenly Sword through a commercial I saw when the Playstation3 came out. My mom and I were watching TV one day and seen her falling from the sky and jumping on top of a warrior’s head. She stabbed him with the most powerful form of her sword called the Power Stance. And then she proceeds to fight with her second form of sword called the Speed Stance. At the near end (my most favorite attacking sword) she uses her last sword form called the Range Stance. This form is wicked cool. Her swords are attached by a chain and can make long-distance and fast attacks. The downside part is that it gives off a weak attack. The most powerful is the Power Stance. The balanced form is the Speed Stance. I used the Speed Stance in the image because it’s the default sword mode. I’m very proud on how the image came out to be. The coloring consumed a lot of my time. I drew her almost a month ago and today I apparently had some time to finish her off. I know most of you have been waiting for the finished Nariko, so here she is! I made a suitable background as well so it would make her pose stand out more. Well I guess this is all I have to say about the image. I’m also sorry I haven’t been on Dragoart a lot. I’ve been working on tons and tons of work lately. When I have some free time I can guarantee that I’ll be on and talking to everyone. It has been like three weeks I haven’t been active. Everyday I have to make three tutorials and working with my mom and dad to make the site look better. So yeah, peace out people and I hope you enjoy this tutorial on how to draw Nariko from Heavenly Sword.
