This is my version of a Halloween bat. As you will see when the drawing is done it will look like a tribal animal. Start with a head shape, and then draw out the shapes for the wings. Add the facial guidelines and then move to the next step.

2

For your second step, all you have to do is draw out the head, and ears, and then draw the beginning lining for the bats wings.

3

Sketch out the ends of the bat wings, and make sure they are curved and pointed. When that is done you can draw out the eyes, nose, and scary looking mouth.

4

For your last drawing step all you have to do is draw out the clawed toes like so. Make sure you draw then to go in sync with the shape of the triangular body. Erase any unwanted lines from the first step, and then move to the last step to see what y

Here it is all colored in. Some fun colors for your Halloween bat is dark purple, orange, brown, or just plain old black. Great work guys!

Description: Okay guys, this is going to be one fun lesson that is coming your way as of right now. Today is the 20th which means Halloween is only ten days away. Because of this I felt like I needed to do a tutorial on "how to draw a Halloween bat", step by step. Drawing bats is so much fun and I think it’s partly because I have loved these animals since I was five years old. I can remember living next to these old people that had a bad bat problem because their rafters weren’t covered properly. They used to spend all summer up under their roof, and at night you would see them fly all over the yard chasing moths for dinner. All I know is when I was five, I was walking with my mother past my old neighbor’s house, and I found a dead baby bat laying on grassy sidewalk. I asked my mother if I could pick it up with a napkin or something and she surprisingly said yes. I ran to my mom’s car and grabbed some Dunkin Donuts napkins and scooted the dead bat onto a handful of napkins. When I got home I must have studied the bat for at least two hours just looking at its anatomy. I didn’t cut it open or anything I was just marveled by the wings, arms, legs, face, and especially the teeth. I will never forget that day, and that is why bats are one of my favorite animal species to this day. This tutorial is going to show you a fun way to “draw a Halloween bat”, by keeping it simple. Well that’s that guys, I may return with another tutorial for you guys, but if I don’t I will be back tomorrow with more drawing fun. Adios people, and have an awesome drawing day!
