The first thing you are going to do is draw the shape of the head, and then add the guidelines for the face, body and arms.

2

Next, add the shapes of each eye like you see here and notice how the lining on the top lid is bold and catty looking. When this is done, draw in the ear shapes, nose, and mouth like so.

3

It's now time to start sketching out the shape of the busy looking face like you see here, and don't forget to add that beard. Draw the eyes in more detail, and then make the horns and the flaring hair. See how easy this is.

Give this chibi Chinese dragon some eyebrows, a pair of slitted eyes, and then some teeth. You will also need to sketch in the detailing in and around the ears like so, and then begin sketching out the front legs, claws, and tail. You can choose to g

As you can see all you have to do is draw out the curled shape of the small body, and then finish off the legs and feet. Add two long, stringy whiskers or mustache, and then draw the hair trail going down the dragon's back. Also add some fluff to the

This is your last drawing step. Here you will sketch in all the light detailing lines that will add texture to the dragon's body. You don't need to erase anything because you cleaned up the drawing in step five.

When the drawing process is over, you should end up with a sketch that looks very similar to the one you see here. All you have to do now is choose some shades, and color in your new friend.

Description: You know, sometimes I will sit there and literally spend a good hour just thinking about a new concept to draw to add as a lesson here at Dragoart. What really gets me when I zone off into space, is the fact that when I finally do realize what I'm gonna sketch, it's something that should have been done a long time ago. That is the case with this next tutorial. I can't believe that I have never thought about this idea before knowing the fact how much my beginning drawing life has always been consumed with creatures, and dragons. Today, I am going to have so much fun showing you guys a new chibi creature to create. Almost everybody loves chibis, and even more love dragons. I came up with a super cool, cute, and fun idea to do as a lesson, and it is called “how to draw a chibi Chinese dragon", step by step. I totally can't believe that I never did a chibi Chinese dragon before. I mean, if you look in the dragons section there is a good amount of tutorials that are on Chinese and Japanese based dragons. I know I submitted a lesson on a plain old chibi dragon, but never on a Chinese version. This idea came to me when I was staring at my ceramic incense figure. It is of a six headed Chinese dragon with incense plates built right into every roaring mouth. One of the faces looked sort of cute if it was twisted or tweaked in a certain way. Now because this figure is small, I got the idea to do a chibi version of a Chinese dragon, and the design I drew came out looking so incredibly awesome. I really like the face, and all the shades I used when I colored it in. I know that you guys will fall in love with this lesson, as you too will "draw a chibi Chinese dragon" of your own. Remember, you can customize the drawing as wish with each passing step. It's always fun to add something of yourself when following a drawing tutorial. Anyways, let me shut up because I know you want to get busy with this fantasy creature of myth. I will be back soon enough with more fun, so stay tuned in to see what pops up next!
