Remember when I said that I had one more lesson to upload? Well, here it is, my second installment on a character from the anime series and Japanese manga, Ranma 1/2. I recently uploaded a lesson on P-Chan, and if you ask me, he came out looking great. Anyway, for my last teaching for the day, I figured I would do a tutorial on the actual main character from the series, but with a twist. I am going to show you "how to draw Ranma", step by step in his female form. Before I begin telling you the gossip on Ranma, I will fill you in on what the manga and series is about. The actual name of the series is “Ranma 1/2", and it is a story that follows a sixteen year old boy named Ranma. Now, since Ranma was a young child, he has been taught the martial art skill of Karate. With age, he grew to become a skilled fighter, which is mainly due to the fact how he was always going on a new journey with his father. These trips just benefits Ranma because his skills are improved. In the end, these journeys eventually educates him further in the arts. So far, everything sounds all good and dandy right? and because it sounds like things are going real well for Ranma, I bet your thinking "how on earth does this skilled Karate fighter become a girl"? Well, the answer to that is simple. One day when Ranma and his father Genma where out on another training trip, they ended up in Jusenkyo, China. While they where there, Ranma accidentally feel into the same cursed spring that Ryoga was pushed into. Instead of turning into a pig, Ranma turns into a girl. But this only happens when cold water touches his body. After that, the male version of Ranma is now a female version. But he can still be changed back into a male when hot water touches him. It’s like a reverse effect. I wanted to do the female version of this character because I like the Karate Gi that she wears, and because it was a request. Anyway, she is also an easy character to try and replicate which means when you "draw Ranma", you should have little or no problems at all. I do hope you enjoy this tutorial, and if you have any other requests for a different from the series, don’t hesitate to ask for a lesson on one. Well, I guess that does it for me guys, I will be back tomorrow with more drawing fun. In the mean time, continue to have fun on the site, and remember to rate and comment on all the artwork and lessons that you view. It really does mean a lot to all the contributing artists on Dragoart.com. Peace out my friends, and don’t forget to have fun drawing!
