Start this step off by drawing basic guide work. These guides are simply made from shapes and a series of lines to keep the drawing process in order. To draw proportionally, you'll need to master the common shapes.

2

Next, draw the snout for your black bear. This should be paid careful attention to so you'll be familiarized with the common snout shape of a black bear. The eye ridges can be optional. You can make eyebrows along the ridges or keep them bare.

3

Then, draw the forelegs of the bear. This should be a bit easy due to lack of detail.

4

Complete the face by drawing the eyes and pupils. You can give your bear a more "happy" appearance by ridding the eyelids over the eyes. Add a fluff of fur to the edges of the cheeks too. Don't forbid drawing the nose and hind legs.

5

Finish off the drawing by completing the arch of the back and the rest of the detailing to the legs. Detail the paws by adding lines to define paw separation. Once completed, you'll have yourself a nice looking black bear!

6

Your finished artwork should resemble this line art. If you're not satisfied with the way yours resulted, then retry the tutorial. Don't ever give up because you don't acquire immediate results. This lesson only gives you leap ahead to better drawing

Description: By now you probably understand that there are countless stories that antagonize bears. It's true, sometimes bears go a little whack of protective of their young and, unfortunately, attack human beings. Bears to me are a bit scary because of the fact that they can tear you apart if messed with. Generally, bears are more scared of humans then you are. In this easy lesson, you'll be learning ”how to draw a black bear”. Learning how to draw a bear can be bit of a challenge because of the bulky and unshaped body they walk with. Their bodies have little or sometimes no shape that it can cause a problem for artists. I had to cope with a cartoon-ish form of a black bear to make it easier for you to draw. I first started this drawing off with the head. As I worked my way further, things became more suitable to handle. The face of these large creatures, would have to be another hard end to master. There's unlimited snout types that it becomes difficult trying to cope with a snout that highly resembles a dog's or raccoons. In conclusion, this lesson should get you onto your feet of drawing your own black bear. Start off with the head as I did to create a proportional body. Once you've done that, your on your way to creating all sorts of black bears. I hope you'll enjoy this lesson so don't forget to leave behind feedback! Learning ”how to draw black bears” can be easy with practice!
