1

The beginning shapes of your hearts look more like Hershey Kisses or acorns. Draw the shapes you see for the two hearts, and the rose buds.

2

Draw out the actual shape of the first heart as you see here. You can choose to make the heart bigger or smaller depending on your preference.

3

Draw the shape of the back heart, and then add the vine that cuts in the lower part of the heart, and then start the sketching design of the roses in the background. See, isn't this a fun Valentine's drawing to do?

4

Next sketch out a few leaves, and some of the thorny vines for the roses. Once that is done, you can start sketching out the blooms the way you see them here. Add another slit on the corner of the heart.

5

For your last drawing step you will finish off the roses by sketching out the pedals. Once complete, draw the rest of the vines, and then add the thorns. Erase all the guidelines and shapes that you drew in step one to clean up your drawing.

6

Here is what your drawing comes out looking like when you are done. Color it in and you have just completed this tutorial on "how to draw Valentine hearts, step by step".

Description: I guess I opened a can of worms when I submitted the roses because I received three e-mails asking that I make a tutorial on “how to draw Valentine hearts", step by step”. I mean, it was expected eventually, so I don’t really mind filling the request. Besides, there is only like eight tutorials in the Valentine section anyway, so filling it with more fun lessons is a good thing. I could have drawn you a perfect depiction of hearts that would have seemed almost impossible to draw. Even though hearts seem relativity easy to make, getting them just right can be very frustrating. Cutting hearts from construction paper can be tricky too, you just have to know how to do it, or have a ton of practice. Having said that, let me get back to my point. I drew the heart shape to look imperfect because it seems more realistic to me. I’m not the type of person to blow a lot of smoke up someone's alley, I just like to keep it real. Most of us can’t draw a perfect heart, so when you draw one for that special someone on Valentines Day, it should come out looking genuine. I decorated my Valentine hearts with roses and vines to give it a more cooler appearance, but you can choose to add anything you like. I can guarantee that you will like the end results of your drawing when you complete this tutorial on “how to draw Valentine hearts”. I have to make like a park and swing out of here for a bit, but I shall return. Peace people, and happy drawing!
