Drawing Dragons

Like every other dragon lesson on this site you will start it the same way. First draw the shape of the head and then add the long curved neck line. Attach the neck to another shape for the body and and then draw the lining for the wings, legs, and t

Start sketching out the dragons head shape starting with the horns, and snout as you see here. We are going to take this tutorial slowly.

Finish sketching out the structure of this dragons face, and then add the lining for the frills around the face, and down the spine of the dragons neck and back.

Finish sketching out the shape of the neck, and add some definition too. When that is complete, you will start drawing the arms, and then the chest as you can see clearly here.

Add more definition and detail to the dragons neck, chest, and spine. Next you can start sketching out the top portion of the rather large wings.

Now you will start sketching out more of the dragons body as you can see here. Begin with drawing the underbelly and then the back legs and feet. Next sketch out more of the dragons wings and before you move to the next step, add some definition and

Description: I know you guys like it when I draw and upload new dragons. I mean after all, when I first started this site it was all about dragons and fantasy creatures. I have made a vow with myself and all you members out there that are dragon lovers. I vow to draw, and submit at least one new dragon a month just to keep everyone happy. This lesson is going to be on “drawing dragons” the right way. There is a bunch of different looking medieval creatures that have been written into books, poetry, and major motion pictures. Lord of the Rings had trolls, and orcs. Willow had two headed beasts, sorcerers, and very different looking trolls, and then there is the more popular Dungeons and Dragons movie where everything was about Medieval monsters, witches, wizards, and much, much more. Although all these flicks seem to be awesome, one of my ultimate favorites was a movie that started Christian Bale, and Matthew McConaughey called “Reign of Fire”. It was so awesome, and the dragons where great. The one I drew in this lesson came out looking a bit different from the ones I usually draw. It has a different style snout, and the face is a bit off from my normal way of drawing dragons. Nonetheless, I think just because there is a new fantasy sketch submitted, everyone will have fun with it. I have to “fly” out of here because I still have six more tutorials that need to go up toady. Peace out guys, and have some good fun learning to draw dragons, step by step”, adiós.
