How to Draw Sylvester the Cat
Step 1. In this first step you are going to start off by drawing the guidelines and circle shapes to of course form the frame for Sylvester. Start by drawing out the nose which is an sideways egg shape, then draw his puffy cat cheeks on each side of the nose. After that the only shapes left to draw are his enormous feet and hands. After you get those shapes sketched out draw all the guidelines that are attached to one and other.
Step 2. As you can see after you are finished with this step you will already see the shape of Sylvester come through. Starting at the top like always, draw the top shape of his catty head and detail the cheeks by adding jagged edges as shown. Now draw out the shapes of his eyes and the shape of his nose and mouth within the shape you drew in step 1. Now draw the shape of his body including the arms, legs, feet, and tail.
Step 3. In this step all you will be doing is giving Sylvester some minor detailing by drawing in his eye balls and the inner lining on his ears. Now draw some whiskers and the lining on his stomach to give him his two tones black and white color. That will do it for this step now you can move down to the next step.
Step 4. In this final step color in Sylvester eye balls and sketch in some last minute detailing along the bottom of his feline body. After your drawing looks like the one above erase all the guidelines and shapes that you drew in step 1.
Step 5. After you cleaned up your drawing by erasing all the lines and shapes your sketch should look like this when you are done. Easy, huh? I know. Well, that does it for this cartoon tutorial on how to draw Sylvester the cat. I hope you had fun on this learning experience, and don't worry I'm not going far!

Let’s have some fun and do a tutorial on a very persistent cat named Sylvester. He was a favorite cartoon character of mine back when I was a kid and he still is today. In this tutorial I will show you how to draw Sylvester the cat step by step. It all started for this feline back in 1945 when Sylvester made his first appearance on “Life with Feathers” which is a cartoon that was nominated for an Academy Award for best animated short film. This was his first role along side Tweedy Bird. What made Sylvester so special? Well that’s easy, his ability to try and eat a little yellow bird at all cost. His slurred speech was also his #1 trademark as well. He would spit and slurp when ever he had something to say. In my opinion, Sylvester was a lot like Wile E. Coyote. He too use to chase and capture his rival the Road Runner with many master plans that usually included devices he made or from products shipped to him by Acme. I love Sylvester the cat because although he can act like a real evil conniving feline, he still is a feline that purrs when he is happy and meows when he wants something from a human. He has more than enough food to last him weeks on end but he chooses to chase that yellow bird who seems to be a lot brighter than he is and can detect what he holds up his sleeve before his plan is carried out. Both Sylvester and Wile E. Coyote where purposely added to the cartoon character collection as losers, these two funny animated animals always seem to lose at what they set there goals to be, they never accomplished any of them at all. When learning how to draw Sylvester the cat you will see just how simple it really is. The step by step instructions show you the easiest way to draw the guidelines and shapes. So put on your helmets because you are going down the fast lane to a learning experience.
