To start this lesson on "how to draw a pumpkin", you will draw a circle for the shape of this round veggie and then draw a vertical line straight through the middle. Next draw the lines that curl a bit for the vine.

2

You will now start sketching out the actual shape of the perfectly round pumpkin as you see here and make sure you draw the rib lines too that look like pleats.

3

Now for a real fancy looking pumpkin you will draw the dried out curled over stem and then the two pretty leaves. Add more pleats on the top of the pumpkins body and then move to the least drawing step.

4

All you have to do here is sketch out the shapes of the curled vines and then draw in the leaves that are scattered throughout. Erase all the guidelines and shapes that you drew in step one.

5

Here is what your finished drawing comes out looking like when you are done. Color in the veggie and you have just learned "how to draw a pumpkin step by step".

Description: This is just a very simple and basic lesson on “how to draw a pumpkin step by step”. Pumpkins are very versatile vegetables that can be decorated, displayed, eaten, and or gutted for their seeds. I love pumpkins around Halloween because a week before the big day comes we carve all our pumpkins both big and small, and then we take all the seeds and bake them in the oven. After about forty five minutes we have fresh, hot, salted pumpkin seeds. Drawing pumpkins is a good way to practice your skills when it comes to carving out the different types of faces you can make on your Halloween pumpkin. I was going to do a lesson on “how to draw a cartoon pumpkin” but I figured there is enough cartoon Halloween tutorials already here on the site. Another thing I love about all hallows eve, is the awesome Halloween gifts that we as trick or treater’s can receive when we visit all the houses in the neighborhood. I know the older you get the more unlikely you are prone to be given any Halloween gifts at all. As I get older my whole steam for trick or treating will fade and I will be the one left home to pass out the candy. I love buying Halloween decorations as well like the satin looking plush pumpkins and the glittery leaves. Maybe I will submit a lesson someday on the Disney pumpkin from the story, Cinderella. Well have fun guys with this lesson on “how to draw a pumpkin step by step”. I will be back once again very soon with more drawing fun.
