Girls love playing with Barbie dolls and other girly toys when they are younger than sixteen years old. I myself never played with Barbie dolls, instead I had a big collection of dinosaurs, dragons, and all kinds of toy insects and snakes. My sister asked me if I could do a tutorial on one of her favorite toys that she plays with on a regular basis. Of course I said yes because she is after all my sister. The funny thing is I also received a request from a member to do the very same doll figure. So without further ado I will be giving you a lesson on “how to draw Polly Pocket” step by step. Polly Pocket gets her name because she is a small figurine that is tiny enough to place in your pocket. I mean that is not literally why they developed this toy. A man by the name of Chris Wiggs designed Polly back in 1983 for his daughter. He used a powder compact to make Polly’s house and then a small little figurine to go along with it. He sold the idea to Bluebird Toys out of Swindon, England and they released the concept of Polly to the public in 1989. Now the distribution came from a contract Mattel held with Bluebird to disburse all the Polly Pocket toys to the stores. In the late nineties, Bluebird sold their Polly Pocket line to Mattel after back and forth take over attempts. Mattel later created a new look and clothing line for Polly and they even made her a bit bigger as well. Her clothes as well as all the Polly Pocket character clothing line are all stretchable rubber pieces that fit nice and snug on the figurines. She now comes with houses, animals, and even a large friend line. Polly Pocket also has various movies out there that are animated that my sister will watch from time to time. Well that does it for this character description, it is now time that I show you all “how to draw Polly Pocket step by step”. Have fun guys and remember you can draw one of your favorite outfits on your Polly if you wish. Peace out and happy drawing!
