Reap What You Sow Drawing Lesson

1

Okay, lets get started. We will be drawing the guidelines and shapes for the two skeletons that are drawn as a mirror image.

2

We will draw the head for the skeleton at the top first. This is a profile view of the skull and face as you can see here. Add detailing to the skull like the cracks and color in the hollows of the eyes and nose. You will also need to draw the verteb

3

Up next, let's draw the torso of the first skeleton along with the arms and hands. As you can see the one arm is raised and the other is resting across the bottom part of the torso or ribcage. The fingers are all erect, except the thumb which is fold

4

We will repeat the same exact process as we did with the first skeletal figure. The only difference is the head is turned the other way.

5

We will now add shading to the entire drawing or both skeletal figures.

6

Here we will draw the first scythe. The blade is large and curved and the handle flows straight through to the other skeleton. You will also draw what seems to look like a moon in the center of the two figures as well.

7

Draw in the other scythe and handle, then color the handles in.

8

Lastly, add shading and some a beautiful, magical looking background. Once you are done you can erase the mistakes and any visible guides.

9

Here is the lineart when finished. You can now show off the art you just created by following this lesson.

Description: Hey guys, welcome back to another lesson and boy do I have some cool ones in store for you all. I have a series of tutorials that will be going up and they will be in sets of two. All the designs are tarot card themed. I wanted to do my own take on some pretty awesome concepts that hold meaning within the picture. So, having said that, here is my first lesson on how to draw reap what you sow, step by step. I'm sure most of you have heard the expression "you reap what you sow, you reap what you sow". Well for those of you who don't know what that means, it is clear as the image that goes with it. The phrase "reap what you sow" means if you do bad things, bad things will happen to you, and if you do good things, good things will happen to you. It's pretty much the same meaning as "karma", except reap what you sow is from Contemporary English and karma is a term used in Hinduism and Buddhism. Anyways, the drawing came out awesome and conveys everything I wanted it too. If you like tarot cards and meaningful art, this piece is right up your alley. I hope you have fun. Stay tuned in because there is one more coming your way.
