How to Draw Buddha

Step 1.

Start off with the basic guidelines and guide shapes.

Step 2.

You will then use the head guide to draw out the actual head structure of the Buddha statue.

Step 3.

Using the facial guidelines go ahead and draw in the eyes. The thick, bold lids are closed and should be colored in. The eyebrows are also thick and black and flare up at the ends. Draw the nose and mouth with a signature grin and then color the upper lip. Also sketch in detailing around the mouth and face.

Step 4.

You will draw the cone shape for the head and then the ultra large ears with the huge holes at the lobes.

Step 5.

Next, draw the different shaped spots or scaling on the cone shaped head like you see here. The closer to the head the larger the shapes.

Step 6.

Now we will work on getting the arms and hands drawn out. As you can see Buddha is in a meditative pose,

Step 7.

Next, draw the teardrop shaped body and be sure to draw the shroud over the body like you see here. Sketch in the detailing to the cloth as well as to the body.

Step 8.

For the final drawing step you will draw in the small feet and the toes. Add some detailing and definition to the feet and toes. When you are done go ahead and erase the mistakes and the guides as well.

Step 9.

That's it, it's time to color in Buddha. I know you must have had a good time with drawing Buddha, because I know I did as well.

Here is a beautiful drawing that I made a couple days ago. It is one of my favorite concept pieces and all the work is original so I do hope you all enjoy the hard work I put into this piece. Up next, I will be showing you how to draw Buddha, step by step. I have made a few different Buddha concepts in the past, but none compare to the beauty of this one. The colors, pose and basically everything about this Buddha concept screams tranquility. If you love meditating, finding peace within or are a practicing Buddhist, I think you will enjoy learning how to draw Buddha, step by step. I still have some other tuts to upload so stay tuned in to see what they are. Namaste to all.
