Crying Statue Drawing Lesson

Step 1.

Start with a circle for the face guide shape and then draw in the facial guidelines.

Step 2.

Using the guide you just made, go ahead and sketch out the shape of the statue's face. Also draw in some of the neck and jaw line.

Step 3.

This crying statue is wearing a cloak or hood over the head so you will also need to draw that in as well. Good news is, you don't have to worry about drawing hair. Add a dimple in the neck too before proceeding to step four.

Step 4.

Use the facial guidelines to sketch out the shape and structure of the nose and mouth or lips. Add the dimpling to the nose and proceed to step five where you will draw the statue eyes.

Step 5.

Okay, let's draw in the shapes of the crying statue's eyes. They should be bulging eyes with dimpling under each eye.

Step 6.

For the last drawing step all you have to do is erase the facial guidelines and then add the falling tears streaming down the statue's face.

Step 7.

That's it, here is what your crying statue looks like when you're done. Now just add color.

Every now and again I will make a lesson based on something I've recently seen in a movie or in real life. That happens to be the case now with this tutorial on how to draw a crying statue, step by step. This crying statue is supposed to be the face of Mother Mary, or the Virgin Mary. The idea for this tut came to me after I watched a movie called 'Bless the Child' starring Kim Basinger. If you have never seen the film before, I urge you to go out and see it. It's really good and the story is creepy and almost believable. Anyways, this isn't going to be a difficult lesson to tackle and complete. I made sure to draw it in an easy manner , and the steps are going to be simple to follow as well. Anyways, I'll be back in a bit so stick around for more drawing fun here on Dragoart.com.
