Drawing the Giver
Step 1. We will start off by drawing the guidelines and shapes for each figure. Start with the head guides, then sketch in the body guidelines.
Step 2. We will tackle one face at a time. Having said that, draw in the face structure of the Giver starting with the forehead. As you can see the face is very skeletal in appearance. Color in some hollow eyes, add a nose, mouth and the outline of an ear.
Step 3. We will now draw in the shape of the head which also happens to be the hairstyle as well. Her hair is limp, semi long and straight. Don't forget to add detailing to the hair.
Step 4. Okay guys, this is where the lesson becomes a little difficult. Sketch out the neck shape, shoulder and arm. When that is done draw the hand and then the one side of the chest. Add the shape of her body and then draw in the hip, thigh and leg. Don't forget to sketch in those surface flaws which are supposed to make her look emaciated.
Step 5. We will repeat the same exact thing on the left side as we did on the right. The only difference for the left is the arm is not reaching out. Draw both feet as well as the toes.
Step 6. Tackle the child. Draw the forehead, profile of the face and then the shape of the head which is basically exposed muscle and brain tissue. Don't forget to draw the neck and the vines coming out from her shoulders with fallen petals.
Step 7. Proceed on by drawing the child's body. Start with the sleeve or arm, then draw in the front part of the shirt. The back of the child has rips and tears. Almost like a wispy flow.
Step 8. Draw the deformed hand and arm. When that is done you can draw the reptilian like spine which is exposed and large. Once that is done you can draw in the pants and the reptilian foot. Add detailing to the pants and then you can proceed to step nine.
Step 9. From the center of the chest draw a long vine with leaves attached to the vine. When that is done you can draw in the blooming flower.
Step 10. What we will do now is draw the scenery around the two figures. There are a mixture of bones, skulls, trees and dirt. Be sure to add detailing to everything.
Step 11. Lastly, we will draw the plants all around the ground just scattered about. These plants are drawn to resemble the Venus flytrap. Erase the mistakes and all the guides when done.
Step 12. That's it, you are done. Now you can color in this art before showing it off to the world and family/friends.
