How to Draw an Anime Bird

Step 1.

Begin with the guides for the head, neck and body. These are all guide shapes. Add the guidelines for the wings next and then add a facial guide for the beak.

Step 2.

Here we will begin to draw the brow or forehead of the crow. Notice the indent to the middle of the forehead. Once that is done you can sketch out the beak. It should be draw open slightly. Add definition and detail to the beak as well.

Step 3.

Here is where the fun begins. You will draw the layers of feathers starting at the back part of the head and continue down to the back. This will create a full shaped neck. Draw in the large expanded wing and notice how the tip of the wing is in the viewers face. Add detailing where needed before leaving this step.

Step 4.

Here you will draw in the claws or feet for your magical looking anime crow. Again, add detailing and definition to the talons for realism.

Step 5.

You will be finishing the drawing by sketching out the back arch for your anime bird and then the other wing. Take your time to create layers of feathers all over the back, tail, and wings. This is supposed to look like a majestic bird, so don't skimp on the dramatic feathering. When you are done you can begin to erase your mistakes and guides.

Step 6.

That's it, here is your line art when you are done. Now you can have a blast coloring in your anime style crow or bird. I hope you had fun.

Okay guys, back to getting business done. Today I will be showing you all how to have fun drawing an anime crow, step by step. I had so much fun with this fantasy concept I didn't know whether to put it in the fantasy section under wizards, or just leave it as an anime style animal. I tried combining the effects of a magician because in the beginning this crow was supposed to be a magician's crow. In the end I thought it would be best to just label the tut an anime bird/crow because it looks a lot like one. Anyways, have fun, I know I did making this bird concept. I have more tuts for you to enjoy today so don't stray too far away.
