How to Draw a Cat and Fish

Step 1.

Make the guide shapes for the cat by making the head and body. You will then sketch in the facial guidelines and then the guide for the fish.

Step 2.

Begin to form the shape of the cat's head like so. Be sure to draw in the tuft of hair on the head and cheeks.

Step 3.

Draw in the big cat ears and then draw the shape of the face on the right side.

Step 4.

Up next draw in the large almond shaped eyes, then draw the nose, whiskers and whisker holes.

Step 5.

Here you will draw the cat's front legs and paws. When that is done you can also add some fluff under the arm.

Step 6.

Finish drawing the cat by forming the body. This should be the back, back legs and belly. When that is done you can draw the long fluffy tail.

Step 7.

Use the guidelines to draw in your flipping goldfish, then move to the last drawing step.

Step 8.

The only thing that is left to do is the task of drawing the fish bowl. Add the swooshing water, and then add some water splashes coming out from the bowl. Erase the mistakes if you made any along with the guides.

Step 9.

That's it, you're done. Color in this drawing of a cat chasing a goldfish.

Someone gave me the idea to make a lesson based on a cat trying to get to a goldfish swimming in the bowl. So here is my concept on how to draw a cat and fish, step by step. This is one of the cuter concepts I have drawn. I love how the cat is trying to get a hold of that slippery goldfish, but like any fish they are pretty allusive when it comes to trying to catch them in their water habitat. Cats on the other hand may find it easier to catch a fish because they have claws. Anyways, this is a pretty simple task, so I do hope you have fun.
