1

Start off with a head guide like so and sketch in the facial guidelines.

2

You will use the facial guidelines to draw out Scott's eyes and eyebrows. Notice the stare he is giving you.

3

You can choose to draw much softer lines, but I went with a much sharper, angled line work. Define the shape of Scott's face and head like so, and incorporate the ears.

4

We will draw in the hairline and then add the forehead wrinkles.

5

Here you can sketch in the lining under the eyes for added detail and then sketch in Scott's nose although I think his nose is much more narrower. Draw the lips or mouth and then the facial hair.

6

Lastly, you will sketch in the shoulders, neck and some of his upper body. I drew from a reference of Scott when he was young, back in the early nineties. Erase the guides and any mistakes you might have made.

7

Here is the line art. You are ready to color him in and fix any off parts of his face that you think should be altered. Upload your finished drawing.

Description: For those of you who are Stone Temple Pilots fans I'm sure you heard the dreadful news of the passing of Scott Weiland, the lead singer for STP. Scott passed away on December 3, 2015 in his sleep. Even though reports say there was drugs at the scene of death, I don't want to remember Scott as person who had a problem with drugs. Instead I want to remember him as being one of the best grunge bands to come out during the early nineties along with Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Alice in Chains, God Smack, and other hard rock/Grunge culture bands. He was also the lead singer for Velvet Revolver which was a band started up by former lead guitarist of Guns n Roses, Slash, Duff McKagan, and Matt Sorum. Scott Weiland left the band in 2008, and honestly I don't know what become of Velvet Revolver after that. We are all familiar with the songs from STP like Interstate Love Song, Plush, Vaseline, Wicked Garden and others. I know the drawing of Scott doesn't look like him the way he passed away, I wanted to create a lesson that resembled Scott in his heyday. So go ahead and enjoy drawing Scott Weiland from STP.
