drawing a centaur step by step

Drawing a Centaur Step by Step

Step 1.

We will begin by drawing the guides starting with the head and body. Once that is done you can draw in the neck guide and the leg guides.

Step 2.

Begin drawing the centaur's face in a side profile view which should be relatively easy.

Step 3.

In this step you will draw in the long flowing length of her hair. Notice that it is in a simple parted style with the right side of her hair falling behind her shoulder. You will draw her upper body next.

Step 4.

I know this part looks a little off, but it will all come together once the body is drawn in. We will sketch her neck, shoulders and arms. When that is done draw the shape of her body which is a nice figure. Also add the chest or the chest for the horse part of her body. Add the necklace.

Step 5.

Let's get started with the animal part of this centaur's body which is a horse. Start by drawing the front legs. You can draw them straight or have a leg lifted, it's up to you. Once that is done you can add the lining for the back and belly, then add some detailing to the human part of the stomach. Add the swirls on her chest to add some coverage. Sketch in the collar bone and move to step six.

Step 6.

For the last step all you have to do is draw the back part of the horse body. This is the rear end, back legs and the beautiful tail. Erase the mistakes and the guides.

Step 7.

When you are done the drawing should come out looking like the one you see here. All you have to do now is add some color.

I have a few fantasy related lessons going up because I was in the mood yesterday to draw some Greek Mythology figures. I will start with showing you all how to draw a centaur, step by step. This centaur is nothing like the other ones I have uploaded. This is a very beautiful and even delicate version of a female centaur. I love the way the body came out. Her look and style is, to me, realistic looking. I do hope that you like this concept. I'm trying to get some drawing lessons uploaded that I don't have a variety of. A member of Drago suggested that I do that and I feel it's a good idea. So here is my first piece for the day, drawing a centaur. I will return with some other tuts so stick around to see what pops up next.
