Mermaid Drawing Tutorial

Step 1.

Begin by making your guidelines and shapes like you see here in step one.

Step 2.

Now you can use the head or face guide to sketch out the actual structure of your mermaid's face and then draw in the bottom lining for the bangs and some of her hair on the side of her face.

Step 3.

Okay, draw in the rest of the hair style which is long, curly and very full of body. She is wearing a starfish in her hair as a accessory so don't forget to add that as well.

Step 4.

Up next, use the facial guides to sketch in her face starting with the eyes and eyebrows. When that is done draw the nose and mouth.

Step 5.

We will now draw in the shape of her neck, then draw the chest, shells for cups and then draw her arm, and the rest of her body shape or figure.

Step 6.

Proceed on by drawing the bottom half of the mermaid's body. This is her tail. Add some scales at the waist and then tapper the shape of her tail at the end where the tail fin will go.

Step 7.

Almost done folks. Draw in the mermaid's tail fin and then add the detailing to the fin itself. When that is done you can proceed to step eight.

Step 8.

Lastly, draw the rock that she is sitting on and be sure to add detailing to the rock. When you're done erase your mistakes and guides.

Step 9.

Here is the line art for your beautiful mermaid. Just color her in and we are done.

Hi friends. Today I'm back with another lesson that is going to be super fun and it's also perfect for the weather we are experiencing here in the North East. Anyways, here is how to draw a mermaid in a very beautiful manner. Of course when you tackle this lesson, you can make changes to anything you want whether it be the rock she is sitting on, her tail fin or just her hairstyle. I had a lot of fun with making this lesson and I hope you do too. I still have plenty more tuts coming your way so be sure to stay put and keep the eyes open.
