How to Draw Akemi Homura

Step 1.

Let's start with a circle for the head/face guide and then the torso for the body guide. Sketch in the facial guidelines.

Step 2.

You will now define the shape of her head and then draw in the long straight hair.

Step 3.

In this third step we will be almost finishing her hairstyle by drawing the thick, chunky bangs. Draw in the headband and the side bang.

Step 4.

Define the shape of the face which should be pointed. Then you will also incorporate the ears which are sort of hiding under her hair.

Step 5.

Draw the thin eyebrows, and then draw the shapes of the eyes, lids, blush marks on the cheeks or under the eyes and then draw the nose and mouth.

Step 6.

Draw the shape of her neck which is covered by her turtle neck style shirt. Draw the shoulders and form a V.

Step 7.

Add the color definition around the neck and then draw the V shaped flaps.

Step 8.

Make the tails for the bow and then add the detailing or stitch lining around the edges of the shawl.

Step 9.

We will now draw the body starting with the arm or sleeve ad then the torso which also shapes out the body.

Step 10.

Lastly, draw the right arm or sleeve as well as the rest of her body. You will also add the remaining lengths of her hair behind her right shoulder and arm. Erase those guides that you made along with any mistakes.

Step 11.

This is the line art. You can now color in Homura Akemi in her typical black colors, or use the scheme in the colored image of this tut, the choice is yours.

So anyways, someone asked if I could make a lesson on how to draw Akemi Homura, step by step. She is another character from the Madoka Magica series. In her real form she has black hair and all the colors on her clothes are black. I made her colors like a blackish purple only so that she stands off the page. Drawing these characters from Madoka Magica is pretty easy. I don't think you will find too many complications as you tackle this tut, but who knows. Just enjoy the lesson and keep sending in those requests.
