How to Draw Huckleberry Finn, Huck Finn

Step 1.

Begin like we always do and that is by drawing the head, shoulder, and arm guides. When that is done sketch in the facial guidelines.

Step 2.

Using the head guide, sketch out the structure of Huck's face shape. Next, draw in some curly lining for the hair too.

Step 3.

Add a mouth line, then draw a tobacco pipe.

Step 4.

You will complete the hair by drawing the wavy lined curls. When that is done draw Huck's ear, then his slender neck.

Step 5.

You will add the curl lines in the hair, then draw the thick short eyebrows and color those in as well. Use the facial guidelines to draw the eyes, nose and detail inside the ear.

Step 6.

You can now draw in Huck's tattered hat. There is pieces of straw poking out as well as some scuff marks.

Step 7.

Almost done people. Draw Huck's leg which is lifted up as it rests on his left or right knee (which will be drawn in the next step). Add the cuff at the bottom of his jeans, then draw the top line for the ankle and foot.

Step 8.

Like I said you will be drawing the other leg which is basically only the knee. Finish the foot and you are done.

Step 9.

You will have to draw the cup, then draw in the fingers that are wrapped around the cup. Add detailing to the finger nails and then proceed to step ten.

Step 10.

Here is where you will draw in the left side of Huck's body. Start with the shoulder, then draw the loose fitting sleeve. Next, draw the hand and forearm as well.

Step 11.

For the last drawing step all you will need to do is draw in the right arm, some suspenders and then the rest of the shirt. Add some ripples and creases in the pants, shirt and straps. Erase the mistakes and guides, then you are all set.

Step 12.

Here is Huckleberry Finn all ready to be colored in. I hope you had fun, but more importantly I hope this lesson will come in useful one day.

I'm sure a majority of kids who are still in school as well as folks who have been out of school for a while have at some point in their lives read the Mark Twain novel 'Huckleberry Finn'. Today I will be showing you all "how to draw Huck Finn" because I think it's important to make lessons on characters from popular literature sometimes instead of always making tuts on cartoon characters, figures from movies, and other concept creations. At least you will have a sense of what Huck Finn looked like. He is not to be confused with is friend Tom Sawyer as they are two separate people, but both created by the same author. Huckleberry Finn is the boy who travels the Missouri rivers with a runaway slave. Anyways, go ahead and have a blast and I will be back with some other cool tuts. Thanks a lot people and remember to leave some feedback.
