How to Draw a Hot Air Balloon

In this first step you will only draw the base of the hot air balloon's design.

Next, draw a wavy outer shape for the balloon. This should be big and wide spread.

You will add the lines to the balloon which should end up looking embedded so you form grooves to capture the texture of the balloon.

Add some short lines at the base of the balloon, then move to step five where you will draw in the rest of this hot air transportation device.

Add the strings on the side of the balloon, then draw in the basket. Don't forget to add a flame too so you can finish this object.

The best part about this lesson is the fun you will have coloring it in. You can also add a graphic design to the hot air balloon if you like too.

Description: "Come fly with me, let's fly, let's fly away!". Those lyrics are from the very talented Frank Sinatra who was one of the Rat Pack which was a group of actors back in the early 1970s. I thought it was a perfect quote for this lesson's description on "how to draw a hot air balloon". I love the way this balloon came out, it actually looks like it's in flight in a dimensional manner. The basket and flame are also drawn in a way to look cool. I enjoyed making this tut, and maybe one day I can experience a hot air balloon ride.
