How to Draw Fish from The Boxtrolls

Begin like we always do and that's by making the oval head shape, then the guidelines for the face, shoulders, arms and torso.

Up next, use the head guide to draw out the structure of Fish's head. Make sure the brows are prominent as well.

Draw in the rest of the eye shapes, then draw the nose, mouth and then the frown lines around the mouth.

Here you will draw out the shapes of Fish's ears. Detail the inside of the ears, then make the forehead wrinkles and then some hair on the head.

Draw out the actual eyes, then make smaller circles to detail the eyes, then draw in the goofy rounded teeth.

Draw in the body which is in a box shape. Add detailing to the box body, then proceed to step seven.

Up next, draw the long arms and chunky fingers for the hands. Notice that the fingers are in a crypt like pose.

Add more detailing to the box body, then add some scuff marks.

Here you will draw in a simple fish that Fish is holding. Add definition to the fish and to his box body.

Finally, draw in the finger nails, then the knuckle detailing on the fingers. Erase your mistakes and you are all done.

Description: I have a few characters that I will be uploading today from a new movie that was released in theaters today. I will start with "how to draw Fish from The Boxtrolls", step by step. I'm not sure what the movie is about. All I know is that it is based on a series of trolls that are all shaped like boxes. The story follows an orphan boy named Eggs, and he has a family that lives underground. They are all trash dwellers and together they make a family. I know that folks will enjoy this lesson as well as the other tuts I have for you all. I will be back, but for now have fun drawing Fish.
