Let's start by making the shape of the kite which is a diamond like shape. There are four points.

2

You will now draw in the brackets that go across the kite. These are the support bars.

3

Next, draw in the one kite tail ribbon like so.

4

Next, draw in a couple more tail ribbons for your kite and when you do this be sure to draw the tail in motion as if the kite is being flown.

5

Lastly, draw the last tail for your kite and if you like you can also add the kite line. Erase mistakes if you made some, then you are done.

6

With the finished line art you can choose to draw a design pattern on your kite canvas. This is your playground so go wild but be creative.

Description: This is the last calming lesson I will upload before I get to the good stuff that I know a lot of you will enjoy. Since a lot of people are out flying kites now, I thought I would make a tutorial on "how to draw a kite", step by step. I searched the site and found that there is no tut on a kite and I know that kites are enjoyed by both adults and children of all ages. One of my memories as a child was when I went kite flying with my friend and her brother decided to double the line length for the kite so it would go incredibly high. Well, needless to say that he was successful at flying the kite that day because that thing went so high up in the air, it looked like it was higher then a bird can fly. The kite I drew has a nice beach background because not only do folks fly kites in parks, they also like to fly them where the wind blows best, and that's a beach. Anyways, you can choose any pattern for your kite you like, this is just a colorful design that I thought would stand out. Hope you all enjoy!
