How to Draw Motley Crue

Begin like you did with GNR, four head guides and facial guidelines.

Next, sketch out the shapes or structures of each band member like so. When that is done you can draw in their bangs which are also messy. Add definition to the sides of their face as well.

Next, completely draw out all their hairstyles which should be long, layered, teased and wavy.

Draw the shapes of all their eyes which should also include eyebrows and noses. You will also draw in the mouth of the first band member starting from the left.

Finish drawing the eyes and add shading around them as well. When that is done add minor detailing to the tips on some of the noses.

Finish them all off by drawing the mouths, lips, earrings, facial marks and cheek hollows. Add shading to some of the lips, then erase the mistakes and guides.

Since Vince Neil is the only one with blonde hair, you will need to color in the hair for the other three members. Show off the band you have drawn to see if anyone knows who they are.

Description: I received an email that said I should do some lessons on 80's hair bands and to be honest I liked that idea a lot. There was only two people that I could ask who where some of the most memorable 80's hair bands and those two people are my parents. Of course I already knew of Guns N Roses, but I couldn't think of who else. After a list was in front of me I noticed a name I was familair with and that is who this lesson is on today. Here is "how to draw Motley Crue", step by step. The band members of Motley Crue consisted of; Nikki Sixx, Tommy Lee, Mick Mars and of course lead singer Vince Neil. I think I did an okay job with their cartoon character image, and I also think it will be an easier style lesson to tackle if you are a Motley Crue fan. I had fun with this tut and I plan on making more lessons on some popular 80's hair bands.
