How to Draw a Skull and Butterflies
Step 1. We will begin with the skull so make a circle for the head guide.
Step 2. Next, use the circle guide to begin sketching out the structure of the skull's head shape. You will also incorporate the face structure starting with the bony cheeks.
Step 3. Up next, draw the eye socket holes as well as the formation of the nose. Notice there are small rough lining for the nose. This is to make the skull aged. Add the brow definition, then draw some of the upper jaw.
Step 4. Sketch out the upper jaw along with the notches for where the teeth will be placed.
Step 5. Add the teeth with one of the teeth missing. Notice that one tooth is broken. Add definition to the mouth and proceed to step six.
Step 6. Continue to work on the skull shape and add some definition to the back of the head.
Step 7. Now you can start drawing the three butterflies on the skull's head like you see here. There is one on both sides and another on top.
Step 8. For the last step all you have to do is draw in the detailing or marking to your butterflies and erase the guides and mistakes.
Step 9. Here is the line art once you have finished. Now you can have good fun as you color in your skull and butterflies.

Here is something that can be a nice drawing for Spring. Yesterday I did some pretty awesome drawings with one of them being the one you see here. Today I will do my interpretation of what a tutorial on "how to draw a skull and butterflies" should look like. I love the way the concept came out because even though the skull is damaged, the beauty of who this person was while alive is within the big beautiful pink monarch style butterflies. Of course you know you can always change or tweak whatever you like within the drawing concept to make it your own. I just lay down the ground work or come up with a canvas for you guys to work around or create more on. Drawing a skull and butterflies is something different that I have never drawn before on Dragoart. I hope you folks have fun and be sure to let me know there feedback if you like this skull concept.
