Now that you have a mannequin like frame to work with you can start sketching in his fury body shape. Chewbacca is one hundred percent fur, so you will have to sketch his body like you are drawing out a person’s hair style. Once his arms and torso

Description: So how did you guys like the latest tutorial that I submitted on how to draw the Millennium Falcon? It came out pretty cool huh? Okay, so far DragoArt has Han Solo, R2-D2, and the Falcon starship right? Well there is another character from the saga that is missing and he is the shipmate of Solo. I think it is time to submit a lesson on how to draw Chewbacca the Wookie from Star Wars step by step. Commonly called Chewy; he is a Wookie with a lot of character and style even if he can’t speak in our tongue. Chewbacca is one of my favorite characters from Star Wars and is the best friend of Han Solo. Wookies are covered from head to toe in long shaggy looking fur. Even though he and his kind are covered with thick amounts of hair, they are loyal warriors. Chewbacca comes from a place called Kashyyyk. He is a very wise and skilled starship pilot that has extensive experience with repairing ships. Although we may only remember him in the first three movies by George Lucas that was released back in the late seventies and early eighties, he originally served as a warrior for the Clone Wars. Some still ask the age old question that arises whenever Chewbacca makes an appearance on the big screen; “how tall is he”? The answer to that question is quite simple; he is seven feet and three quarter inches tall. So you’re talking about almost seven and a half feet of pure Wookie. Imagine standing next to a hairy giant like that? Now because Wookies were incredibly strong and had excellent technical skills, they were often enslaved by the Empire to be used as labor workers. Before he meet his starship mate, Chewy was a slave for quite a bit of time. It was an Imperial cadet named Han Solo that decided to free the big lug. Soon after Solo was thrown from the military and because he freed Chewbacca, the Wookie made an oath to forever stay loyal to his now good friend. Now that the two had each other, they became partners in thieving crime. And who would want to approach an enormous creature like Chewbacca to dispute battles with? Nobody, that’s who. Anyways the character was well designed and created making him a character that will stain the sci-fi fantasy hall of fame for all time greatest characters. This tutorial will show you how to draw Chewbacca the Wookie from Star Wars step by step. I know you will have a blast because I had a lot of fun drawing him out and coloring him in. There is so much more on the way so please stay tuned. Remember to rate and comment tutorials even if they are not mine. Peace out people!
