I want you to start this first step by drawing out the mermaid's body lines of position as you see here so you have a nice frame to work with. Draw a circle for her head and then add the facial guidelines.

Next, start sketching out the shape of her face drawing her chin and jaw first. Give her some lips and then two almond shapes for her eyes. Draw a neck line and then draw the curvy shape of the left side of her body and fin. Add lines to form her rou

You will now sketch out the beginning style of her wavy hair as well as the left side of her face which is her cheek. Add some definition to her breast, and then sketch out the shape of the right side of her body and arm as you see it done here. Add

Finish sketching out her hair style and then draw out the shelled top that covers her breast for the most part. At this point you can draw out any shell design you wish if you don't like the one you see here. If you choose to keep the design you will

This is your last drawing step and all you have to do here is sketch out the detailing to her hair. You will also draw out her eyes and add a nose on her face. Define her lips and then add more detail to her neck, shoulders, and tail fin. Erase the g

Description: I am really excited to be submitting this first tutorial of the day because it is long overdue. For my first lesson, I will be showing you how to draw a green tailed mermaid step by step. I already have like three mermaid tutorials uploaded from a while ago and I can see how my drawing skills have improved over time. When this one is uploaded it will give the mermaid section a fresh new face and a more realistic figure that I think we all imagine mermaids to look like. When drawing out this creature, I was having fun and I think it really shows through my work. I love the way her green scaled tail came out, and I especially love how her fin looks more alive and loose. The other female mermaids that I drew had stiff tails with no life to them whatsoever. Anyways all I wanted this new sea dweller to look like was what people expect when they think of mermaids. She has long green colored hair, really nice piercing eyes, and a beautiful tail and fin. The sketch was really easy for me to draw because I have been drawing mythological female creatures in my spare time for a few days now. I am eventually going to do a lesson on how to draw a male mermaid because I think that it is only right that there are tutorials on both male and female species. I also want a tutorial on how to draw king triton the sea god because that would also make a really cool lesson. All in all learning how to draw a green tailed mermaid is a real simple tutorial to learn from. I’m sure you will have her drawn out in no time at all. The best part is you can color her the way you want using a color scheme that suits your taste. I will be back in a few with some more kick butt lessons on some of your favorite characters so you can start learning how to draw like a pro in no time at all. Hey, that just sounded like something you would hear on an infomercial?? Anyways, I’m outta here. Adios amigos.
