Okay very simple step here. All you have to do is draw a big circle for the envelope or balloon. Next draw three lines which will be the ropes and then the ring which will later be connected to the basket.

You will now add the stripes on the balloon and make sure it has at least five curved in stripes. Or you can actually add your very own decoration on the balloon or envelope. Next draw out the shape of the holding basket as you see here and then move

You will now start drawing out the rope lines which are criss crossed like a braid. After that is done all you have to do is draw out the stripes to make up the weave on the holding basket. If you like you can try and erase any guidelines that you dr

Once you’re done you should have a drawing that looks like the one you see here. All you have to do now to complete this lesson on how to draw a hot air balloon is color it in. I hope you had fun as well as learned something new.

Description: I was thinking what kind of traveling unit was missing from the transportation section of the tutorial list. As I was going through it I started brainstorming to come up with a tutorial idea that was unique and not ordinary. So what I came up with was a lesson on "how to draw a hot air balloon, step by step". Hot air balloons are probably one of the most primitive of all travel devices ever created. The schematics on one of these units are pretty basic. The balloon part is called an envelope which has the capability to hold hot forced air which is roped with a wicker basket or gondola that hangs under the huge balloon. This is the object that holds and carries the passengers that decide to take a trip through the air. All hot air balloons of today are usually made with nylon and this is because nylon last a whole lot longer and is lighter than any other fabric. But where is the burner placed within the construction of the hot air balloon you ask? Well the burner hangs above the basket, and before your ride begins, the envelope is filled half way with cold air from a gas powered fan. Pretty neat huh? Did you know that the very first hot air balloon that took flight with people inside of the basket took place on October 19, 1783? It’s true; two brothers named Joseph-Michel and Jacques-Etienne Montgolfie from France built the first successful hot air balloon with humans on board. When you think about how technology came so far along over time, it really blows your mind. Although the construction of a hot air balloon may be a bit complex, I decided to make this lesson as easy as possible. The lines and shapes are basic enough for anybody to learn "how to draw a hot air balloon, step by step". I hope you have fun with this tutorial I enjoyed drawing and coloring it. I will be back momentarily so keep your eyeballs peeled for new upcoming lessons. And don’t forget to add your favorite drawing lessons on our new DragoArt Video site, it doesn’t matter if you drew them or not. If you think it will help people, than sign up and submit it. It’s that easy!
