How to Draw Skulls

1

You can begin by making two guides for the head shapes like so. Next, draw the connecting lines for the spines and make sure they come together in a point. As you can see the skulls look like cherries.

2

Start with one of the heads and begin sketching out the structure for the head. You will then add detailing to the skull by sketching i the bony structure for the cheek bone and upper jaw.

3

Here you will draw in the bottom mandible or bottom jaw, then sketch in the detailing along the edge of the jaw. Draw in the gum line and teeth, then proceed to step four.

4

Sketch the scratches on top of the head, then draw the eye socket hole. Color in the eye, then move to step five.

5

You will begin drawing the second skull head the very same way you just did in step four. Make sure the detailing for the cheek bone is nicely structured, then add all the scratches and scuffs on the head.

6

Draw the bottom jaw and then sketch in the gum line and teeth. Draw the eye socket and then color the eye in.

7

Now that the skull heads are drawn, you can begin sketching out the spine bone for the skull to the left. Draw the pointed parts of the spine bones, but make sure they are a bit rounded at the tip.

8

Finally, sketch in the other spine bone, and make sure to do it in the same manner. Erase all the mistakes and guidelines that you made to finish it all off.

9

And here is the line art. Now you can think up an idea to color in your drawing so the sketch comes to life. I know you guys did a great job.

Description: Okay folks, after making lessons that I wasn't interested in, I decided to go all out and make some tuts based on some things I actually like. To start, here is "how to draw skulls", step by step. The idea for these two skull heads which form a heart actually came from one of those tattoo gumball machines. Of course the skulls from the temp tattoo didn't look anything like what you see here, what I used was how the two skull heads face each other in a loving way. The spines make the heads form a heart, and then the etches on the skull heads makes everything come together. I do hope you have fun drawing skulls, I will be back with some other cool tuts.
