Okay as you can imagine this is going to be simple. All you have to do is draw a oblong oval circle with a small circle for the eye. You will then add a dash like line for the tail.

Since the male betta is a very pretty fish, you will emphasize this in your drawing. Draw the outline of his top dorsal fin and then the anal fin which is directly under the belly of the betta. You will also draw out the long skinny pelvic fin which

Description: This is going to be a fun lesson on how to draw a betta fish step by step. Now I know that this is a very popular fish owned by hundreds of thousands of people around the world. The betta is sometimes referred to as a “Japanese fighting fish” or a “Siamese fighting fish”. To me I call these pretty fish bettas. Anyway, the betta is a fish that prefers a life of solitude opposed to living with a school of fish. The only time the betta is in the same tank with another is when they are mating. The belief that a betta will fight and kill another betta is somewhat true, but also somewhat false. You see, in the wild when two male bettas confront each other the two will duel until the other gives up and leaves the dwelling that is being fought over. Now in captivity since there is no place for the loser to run and hide, the dominate betta will just keep fighting the looser until he is killed. Now as for the shape and style of the betta, the fish that is the most beautiful is the male and the dull plain looking betta is a female. It is true that males will sometimes kill the females unless they are mating. This fish is a popular specie to be purchased because there is virtually no upkeep whatsoever when you own a betta. Now don’t get me wrong you do still have to feed the little guy and change its water, but usually you only have to change the water every two weeks. There is another question that may arise to some betta owners or for those that are looking into getting this breed of fish. How do you know if the fish is happy? Well, a good sign that your betta is happy is when there is foam like ring around the top of his holding water. This is small air bubbles that male bettas release when they are happy and they do it to trap the female eggs so that they will easily be fertilized. Cool huh? Anyways, let me stop talking so you can get on with this tutorial on "how to draw a Betta ", step by step. When you are done you can have fun coloring the fish either red, blue, green, yellow, white, or whatever you choose. I am signing off until later on. Adios Amigos!
