How to Draw Corey Taylor, Slipknot

1

We begin with 3 steps to making the sketch, a simple sketch , don't overflow it with details .

2

With the high contrast in this drawing and the white mask, you don't need a great deal of effort in drawing his mask. Just make sure to get the eye and ear holes right , also , the shadow under his jaw. Shadows reveal volume and shape .

3

Along with the shadow , ad details to that part of the jacket . From that we're going to move down .

4

After drawing the knots that hold the mask on his face , make little white lines next to the dark string on the top of his mask .Use either white pastel or a kneaded eraser.

5

Ok, time for something easier . There is a large portion of darkness in this drawing . You have to determine exactly where these zones are. I've already done this for you, so just go along with me .

6

After the fun part it's time for the details . This sleeve has no grey in it so you don't need to worry about that. It's all black and white. Remember to use a mechanical pencil . You can still get a dark surface using only a 2B if the tip is sharp.

7

Normally I would have only moved up to the hand and fingers but I got carried away and made a few wrinkles on his jacket. You don't have to if you don't want to , yet .

8

Now the shadows under his fingers and you're done with the arm. I've started making the details from the left side of the drawing because I used my right hand to draw. If you're left handed I would advice you to start from the right side so you don't

9

The wrinkles on the jacket look tricky but it's a lot like drawing a tribal design . You draw the outline of the visible ares and the fill in with black around them . Then ad a few shadows on the white ares and you're done .

10

You can see now why I asked you not to make a very detailed sketch . Aslo notice the path we're drawing on .

11

This is what I was talking about a few steps earlier . Draw the outline of the white zones, then fill with black around them .

12

This and the following steps don't reveal anything new that what I've already told you. I just made them so it doesn't seem too much at once .

13

I remade the 8 on his arm, because I couldn't predict how thing would look at this stage.

14

You are done. The background, as always, is optional. Use cotton and graphite powder to make it.
