1

Start the first step with the guidelines for the shape of the shamrock. Add a tiny circle in the middle as well.

2

In this step you will use the guidelines that you drew in step one to draw out the shape of the shamrock as you see it here. It is heart shaped and this will make it easier for you to draw.

3

Now you will add the heart like shapes on the leaves of the shamrock and then draw a devilish tail. You have to make sure that the tip of the tail is triangle like and pointy.

4

This is your last drawing step and all you have to do now is add the pretty little leaves on the tail to give this shamrock some character. Erase all the guidelines that you drew in step one and then you can move to the next step.

5

This is what your shamrock should look like when you are done. All you have to do now is color it in and you have just completed this tutorial on how to draw a shamrock step by step.

Description: Here is another one for the books under the St. Patrick’s Day category. As you know DragoArt needed to have lessons on everything Irish just to cover the basic holiday images and characters. As I looked through the seasonal section to see what was needed, I noticed that I did not have a tutorial on how to draw a shamrock step by step. And what is St. Patty’s Day without learning how to draw this particular piece of grass? Shamrocks are also called four leaf clovers and the saying for these green leafy weeds is “if one is found below your feet, pick it up and forever live your dream”. Or in other words, if you find a shamrock or four leaf clover you will have good luck as long as you have the clover in your possession. I personally have never once found a shamrock or clover and I will still be searching for one until one is found. I really did have fun drawing out this image because I was feeling really creative. Out of the five lessons that I did, this was my father’s favorite because he said the coloring job makes the shamrock look like silk or satin. You will also often see shamrocks on the front of leprechaun’s hats as well as on the front of cauldrons. This lesson will show you how fun it is to learn how to draw a shamrock or four leaf clover step by step. I will be back in a while with more fun things to show you how to draw.
