How to Draw Sparrows

1

House sparrows are characterised by sexual dimosphism. In the image you can see the differences between the plumage of the male (left) and the plumage of the female (right). Females are slightly smaller than males.

2

First of all draw the guide lines of your sparrow.

3

Draw the forehead, the throat and the chest, then add the round eye.

4

Draw the stout and conical bill.

5

Now draw the outline of the body. Try to create a fluffy effect on the underparts.

6

Now that the body is done, add the folded wings and the short tail.

7

Add plumage detail on the wings. Notice the various groups of feathers that form the wing stucture.

8

Draw the legs and the feet with long and curved claws.

9

Add plumage on the bird's body and head and detail on the feet.

10

Add detail inside the eyes and your sparrows are finished!

11

Here an extra pose for you to practice. I hope you liked this tutorial!
