How to Sketch Allen and Lenalee, D Gray Man, Allen Walker, Lenalee Lee

1

Sketch the two circles and V shapes that are attached. Also include the diagonal lines extending from the V shapes. There is a shoulder line on the 1st & 2nd figure to draw and also round shapes representing their shoulders. Remember to include the c

2

Sketch in lightly their eyes and eyebrows. Make sure you draw in Allen's star on his forehead.

3

Now sketch in profile, nose, and mouth. Add in Allen's scar from his eye trailing down his cheek.

4

Sketch in Allen and Lenalee's hair lightly. Take your time with Allen's spikes and ear. Notice how Lenalee's curls follow a circular motion.

5

Now sketch in their collars. He has a special clasp and she has an insignia broach, representing the Black Order.

6

Now draw in the front of his coat. Observe how the front design and zipper area lines up with the guideline. Also sketch in her shoulder with the special piping and design on her shoulder pad.

7

Last but not least, sketch in Allen's fur on his shoulders. At this point draw in Lenalee's chest with Allen's claws. Now you can erase the guidelines if you haven't already.

8

Your drawing may look like this or you might have your own version. At this point, you can color in your picture with a medium of your choice. Otherwise, let us continue to the pencil drawing part.

I didn't want to skip this. The first picture shows how to hold your pencil for Overhand (great for writing & details) and Underhand (great for shading large areas in wide strokes). You can practice tone shading and take it a step further with the To

Here is how the tools look. I used the 0.7mm 2B mechanical pencil, 9B pencil, tissue, and the blending stump.

TIPS: When I start pencil drawing from a reference picture, first I make sure it's turned to black & white. Then I look at how it's cropped. Like the rectangular or box the picture is framed in. That leads me to drawing the shape on my paper. Next th

Here is a sketchy outline of Allen and Lenalee. This is just me, but I find my drawing lines to be very messy. Like a potter molding clay, I'm always putting more lines, erasing mistakes, and redrawing to match my reference pic. This picture was so m

I have made the lines darker and cleaner to be easier to shade on this re-done outline. So the picture appears more accurate and less sketchy.

I shaded their skin and with my No.2 pencil very lightly. I sketched the darker shading (Allen's shaded hair spikes, coat zipper & button area; Lenalee's collar, bust design, and shoulder emblem) with my 2B mechanical pencil. I looked carefully at th

I did the light shading first because I wanted you to see the difference in tone before I shaded the rest in black. Here I did those areas. On Lenalee's chest and arm, I sketched in some lighter areas. I did this with my 9B graphite pencil.

16

I blended their skin with a soft tissue (tissue picks up more graphite and leaves blend smoother & lighter). I took a small torillon and blended small areas like with the hair strands and tiny shadings around their eyes lips. For larger areas I used

In my digital/drawing program I blurred my image then lightened Allen's face and darkened their uniform with an airbrush. I also had to edit his claws by darkening them as well. If course, you would do this with your pencil. But lightening his face w

I couldn't resist digitally adding the background and falling rock debri that looks like leaves to match the reference pic. This was done with the pen, then I blurred it. If you're unable to do that, clean up with a kneaded eraser or use white/gray p

Description: I am glad, once again, to feature another anime couple, Allen Walker and Lenalee Lee from the amazing anime and manga titled "D. Gray-Man." Though romance is not the focus in this supernatural, action-packed, epic story, they show deep love toward each other. I don't see Lenalee stroking her fingers through anyone else's hair. Neither does Allen embrace anyone else (male or female) like he does her. This picture is with Allen in his "Crown Clown" form of his fully enabled Innocence of the anime's third season. Here is a summary of the story from Wikipedia: The main character of the series is Allen Walker, a young Exorcist who trained under Exorcist General Cross Marian and is sent to officially join the Black Order. Early in the series, he is sent on missions with fellow Exorcists, on which he meets Yu Kanda (a tut done by Dawn), a cold and mysterious swordsman looking for a certain person from his past; the friend Lenalee Lee, who has been an Exorcist her entire life; and Lavi, the cheerful and energetic future Bookman, chronicler of the secret history of the world. The series is set at the end of a fictional 19th century during which the Black Order searches for Exorcists, the "Apostles of God" chosen to wield a divine substance called Innocence, as they are the only ones who can destroy Akuma, weapons created by the Millennium Earl from souls of the deceased when humans curse God for the loss of loved ones, and stop Earl's plan to destroy humanity. I hope you enjoy this tutorial. Please let me know how you feel about it by commenting, faving or clicking on "Love It." Thanks sooo much!
