How to Draw Darth Maul

Step 1.

Okay let's begin this tutorial step by drawing out the guidelines and steps of Darth Maul as you see them here. First draw a circle for his head shape and then add the facial guidelines. Once that is done draw out the torso's line of position as well as the limb guidelines for his arm and legs. Draw out the shape for his hand and the the lining for his robe and attire.

Step 2.

Okay now start this step by drawing out the beginning outline shapes of his body starting with his face and then the chest, arm, hand, fingers, and legs. Once that is done you will draw out some of the wrinkles or folds on the bottom of his pants near the top of his boots.

Step 3.

You are now on step three and what you will start doing now is sketching out the face of Darth Maul which is his tattooed markings. Give him a nose, a mouth and then some facial structure as seen here. Once his face is done you will work on drawing out the rest of his body including his loose looking clothes. You have to make his clothes look like they are in action instead of standing still. Add wrinkle waves to the outfit as well as the rest of the shaping of his boots.

Step 4.

This is your last drawing step and before you go any further you will draw out the rest of his facial tattoo markings on the lower part of his face. Once that is done you can draw out the wrinkle and crease detail and definition lines to add depth and action to his pose. Draw out the detail on his boots and then start erasing all the guidelines and steps that you drew in step one.

Step 5.

Once you are done your Star Wars character should come out looking like the once you see here. All you have to do now is color him in and you are done. I hope you liked this lesson on how to draw Darth Maul from Star Wars Episode I The Phantom Menace step by step.

Hello everyone and welcome back to another fun filled drawing lesson here on DragoArt.com. Today I am going to do a tutorial on a character that my dad said I should do which may or may not be popular with anyone that visits here. I will be showing you how to draw Darth Maul from Star Wars step by step. For all of you die hard Star Wars fans and even the ones that just simply love this George Lucas legacy creation, this will be a very sweet lesson to try and accomplish. Now I don’t know too much about this character all I can tell you about him is what I learned from the movie and from what I have read about him very briefly online. From what I gathered, Darth Maul was taken from his mother at a very young age by a guy named Darth Sidious from his homeworld of Iridonia. Darth Maul was a Zabrak and this race inhabited the planet of Iridonia. It was Darth Sidious who taught Maul the way of the dark side of the force. He became a very skilled Sith and was recognized as being the trained product of the dark side force. For those of you that don’t know what a Sith is let me explain. The Sith Order was a group of dark side force users that wanted nothing more than to destroy and disassemble the Jedi and gain power. Maul wasn’t born a Sith he was indoctrinated by Sidious until he loved the dark person that he was trained to be. Darth Maul also underwent tattooing ceremonies where Darth Sidious marked his entire body with tattoos including his face. He normally has a red body and face with small horns around his head. His weapon was a double-bladed lightsaber that was red in color. In the movie he is seen killing Liam Neeson who plays Qui-Gon Jinn in the movie “Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace”. I loved this part of the Star Wars series and I know you will love learning how to draw Darth Maul from Star Wars Episode I step by step. The instructions are very easy to follow and the steps are simple to understand. I will be back in a while with more drawing fun so stay tuned gang I will be back momentarily. Peace out people.
