I have some pretty awesome lessons for you all today which means I’m really excited to get them uploaded. To start, I will be showing you "how to draw a Roman soldier, step by step". These soldiers where considered to be one of the fiercest risk taking men from a military view. One of the main reasons why they were so brutal was because of the organization that was brought onto them from their leader and commander. When the Romans invaded Britain, they had a high kill rate because the soldiers moved in swiftly, effectively, and skillfully. All Roman soldiers where well equipped with a number of items. First they had a Cassis which is their helmet, then they were all equipped with Lorica Segmentata armor, to go under the armor they also wore a scarf and tunic called a Focale and Cingulum. Next they all carried a Scutum which is their shield, Caligae (these are military boots, but they sometimes looked more like sandals), a medium sized throwing spear called a Pilum, a Gladius which where the swords, and these swords would range in size from eighteen to twenty four inches in length. Lastly, they all wore a red battle cloak. When Roman soldiers traveled from place to place, they marched instead of walked. Anyways, these guys where mean, lean and awesome fighting machines. Drawing a Roman soldier is going to be awesome because I know lots of people love recreating these types of people. Enjoy folks and let me know if you had fun.
